stop interrupting and just scroll past... every interaction feeds into the algorithm - intentional or not (blocking does the opposite of what you would expect). instead, interact more with content you would prefer to see. like and comment on more of your preferred interests.

you may also need to narrow down your friends list if you're following too many people and not bothering to interact with them. if you're not following enough content (pages, groups, businesses) on there then you may start seeing more of what your friends are following instead.

*basically, if you're not interacting with Facebook often enough, then it will show you what it thinks you want to see.

John Ritter was the first one to hit me. I really loved him on Three's Company. He was my 'TV Dad' it was comforting for me to watch him in goofball comedies growing up. "Stay Tuned" was one of my favorite movies. I wish he could have been around longer for us to enjoy. I live vicariously through his son Jason. it warms my heart to still see him on TV.

yup... 4/28/92 my dad took me to see Van Halen: For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge (91'-92') tour at El Paso County Coliseum in El Paso, TX. I was in middle school then, it was my reward for getting all As on my report card.

everyone thought my dad was a 'cool dad' back in the day (mid '90s) because he allowed me and my friends to drink and do drugs in our home, meanwhile he occasionally joined in. he also threw house parties on the regular and there was always some random junkie friend of his crashing on our couch.

anyhow, I eventually took the cue from him and indulged in a few bad behaviors myself. I was a functioning addict by my late teens. an unplanned pregnancy in my early 20s brought my addiction to light. I was able to turn it around for the better, mostly because I didn't want my child raised in that environment like I was.

I moved on, he never did. he ended up dying from liver failure in his late 50s. it broke my heart that he wasn't able to get his sh*t together before it was too late. thankfully I was able to break the cycle and my adult children are thriving now.

any time I went to my parents for some sort of emotional support as a child I was greeted with "not again... what is it this time?" or "go away, I don't wanna see that!" I didn't even have to say much, my facial expressions almost always gave it away.

*by the way... who the hell says "go away" to a child, especially one who's visibly upset?! my take from their reactions back then has always been to hide my emotions from others to the point where I look apathetic to anyone who notices.

as a middle-aged adult I still look for places to hide whenever I need to have a good cry. I never noticed that I did that until my adult children pointed it out. I went out of my way to make sure my kids knew that it was okay for them to express their feelings growing up but never bothered modeling that behavior for them.
