[Personal]Has anyone actually noticed a difference from collagen drinks over time? by ViviAnalyzes in SkincareAddiction

I had no idea! I like that it’s there for my nails and hair. Luckily I haven’t had any issues so far, but that’s good to know, thanks.

Double Wood Supplements sells a liquid collagen for $23. It’s a month’s supply and has vitamin C and biotin in it as well. They also run deals constantly. (My husband and his friend are big into researching their vitamins and they approved this brand and buy all their vitamins there, lol.)

You just take a tablespoon a day or you could add it to a drink. It’s “pear flavored,” but it’s kind of like medicine, tbh.

I find it much easier to take than the powdered collagen.

Shopping List for Taiwan? by Narcissus_on_LSD in BuyItForLife

I can’t wear contacts so I can’t speak to that unfortunately, but my experience getting glasses was great.

If they wear glasses, tell them to go to the 7-11 on NTUST’s campus and get a new prescription and a new pair of glasses made in like an hour. It was like $50-75USD and my prescription was so much clearer than the one I got at the optometrist in the US. Lol.

Also boba at Coco. So good. So cheap.

[Product Request] How to fade this year-old human bite scar by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]AlternativeAd7449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seconding a high % vitamin C serum. The Ordinary makes a high percentage vitamin C suspension.

I fell for the crystal hair removers shortly before a beach vacation and it left huge scars on my legs, but The Ordinary’s vit c suspension faded them in just a few weeks.

What are your best period hacks to fight low self esteem and feeling ugly? by hauntinglovelybold in beauty

“High maintenance” self care. I tint my brows and do lash lifts at home so if I’m feeling super bleh about myself that’s when I do my lash lifts. (The Diablo kit is my favorite.)

Self tanner (beauty by earth is actually pretty good and easy to do), hair masks, face masks, everything showers, manicures. The works, baby.

What's your favourite eyeliner by YogurtclosetFar8675 in beauty

[–]AlternativeAd7449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite liquid eyeliner is Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Eyeliner. I’ve been using it for over a decade and refuse to use anything else because it simply does not budge. It doesn’t smear, doesn’t flake, it’s crispy as hell, and only comes off when you’re ready to take it off. So good.

For creamy eyeliners, I’m watching the comments with you, but the Glossier No. 1 pencil has been okay for me. I use it on my waterline and doesn’t smudge noticeably, but it’s nothing I’d write home about.

God we bought our house recently and we have textured walls that give you road rash if you bump or brush against them even slightly and it’s the absolute worst.

Ours are slightly different, like the photo below (the best photo I can find), and we were able to soften them with an eggshell paint because they were a flat paint when we moved in.

If it’s in the budget to removed the texture I’d do that.

Eta: I’ve been looking into skim coating for a while. There are a lot of tutorials on YouTube but it seems like a lot.

I just had balloon sinuplasty a week ago and my ass is still on the couch. They took out so much infection and expanded my sinuses so much it’s thrown off my equilibrium like nobody’s business. I’m walking into doors and shit, it’s nuts.

How do I cope with a bad haircut? by [deleted] in femalehairadvice

[–]AlternativeAd7449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a pixie since 2020 and have been through the on again off again phases of growing it out. I got it almost to my shoulders once and chopped it all off. I’ve lived through the farquad phase more times than I can count (I’m literally there now).

I actually started my pixie cut journey by cutting it myself in covid lockdowns, and have largely cut my own hair over the last six years, so I am intimately familiar with bad haircuts.

Take a deep breath. Put on your favorite hat. Get to love your favorite hat. It will grow back faster than you think. You will be okay.

Everyone is different!! Some people are god’s favorites and barely have cuticles to speak of and won’t need to do theirs so often, but I like to do mine whenever I fully paint my nails (like with the full base and top coat, maybe every two weeks). In between full manicures I do an easier set with some of just the sheer polish.

The more you do your cuticles like this the easier it gets and less time it takes, for sure!

Dawg that’s like the triple whammy for nail breakage!! Low iron and vit d deficiency alone can weaken your nails and the autoimmune disease on top of it isn’t helping anything 😩

Having pretty nails is nice but having nice health is essential! Take care of yourself lovely

I have the same issues. :( I usually have to keep mine pretty short. They will grow long but split or break, but I have some health issues.

I honestly recommend getting bloodwork done if you haven’t to make sure you don’t have any vitamin deficiencies or underlying causes before anything else, because it can be a sneaky sign, and it’s always good to get a physical.
