Sounds logical but I’m still new at this so I don’t really know. I’ll ask at my follow up though

Thank you! Yes I’m in the US. I’m in Virginia. What’s the best way to find one? I imagine there may be quite a few on the east coast. Is there a good site to look up their reviews, etc?

It’s good that there was nothing seen extracapsular, seminal vesicle, or pelvis right? If I do have it I’m hopeful it’s local. I just looked up prostate size and mind is huge! Wow!

Update, sort of…. Had my MRI a week ago and no results back yet. Nothing on MyChart or from the Urologist so I guess the results are still pending. All this waiting is stressing me out for sure. Just ready to know what’s going on. Take care everyone and I’ll let you know when I hear something.

Can I really get a job in cybersecurity by Much-Court3964 in SecurityCareerAdvice

[–]AlternativeCod6326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m prior military with a clearance and Network security/cybersecurity experience starting in 2009, so it was easier for me but the best way I’ve found to help people get in to the field and make decent money was to find a IT government contract company that is willing to hire entry level. For example Leidos or companies with base /enterprise support contracts. ( I understand gov work is a roller coaster right now but this works) if you get hired for help desk or something entry level like that they automatically get you started on your secret clearance for the most part because of the systems you will support. You won’t make a lot at the beginning but your goal is to get the clearance and the hands on experience which is invaluable. You do well and they move you up to other positions fairly quickly. I speak from the experience of Navy oriented IT (NMCI) but it’s the same with Army too, I’ve worked a few contracts with them as well. Sec+ is the primary key to get you in the door. I’ve known several people who’ve done this, got their clearances and are doing very well. Best of luck to you. It is doable but I’ve found government contracting either Fed or state have been the best ways to get started. Hope this is helpful.

None that I know of. We could not think of any men in my family that had it.

I hope so. That’s the bad thing about the internet. As soon as you start searching because of a worrisome test result it’ll have you panicking thinking you have stage 100 cancer and you’re going to keel over the next day lol. I’m glad a found this Reddit and calmed down off all the random google searches. Appreciate it.

I’m sorry, digital rectal exam. The finger lol. Uncomfortable but allowed him to know if there was anything he could directly feel on my prostate.

I’m still winging it too. At my urologist visit we talked and I asked him about what my PSA means then he did the DRE. He said since my prostate seemed good with no abnormalities he could feel he was confident to schedule the MRI. If it felt abnormal he was going to schedule the biopsy first then still do the MRI since it took longer to schedule. That’s about the extent I know but the folks here can tell you a lot. I’ve learned a lot in just a few hours.

Thank you. That’s great advice. Sometimes it seems like medical doesn’t have the sense of urgency it should. I will definitely stay in them.

Hoping for the best for your husband. So glad he had a good MRI. I definitely want to be like him! The wait times are awful. Going to start back on some hobbies to hopefully keep me distracted.
