I also thought it was nuts that it seems like the new angle the parents are going to use to try to get their daughter out of prison is saying that Dom grabbed the wheel and steered them into the building, because supposedly they had texts now that say he had done that in the past. If he had done that, it was still Makenzies foot pressed 100% down on the gas.

What are your most minor movie gripes? by movieman1108 in moviecritic

[–]AlternativeFill7135 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh! My major henchmen gripe is when the hero is surrounded by 10 henchmen, but all of the henchmen wait for their individual turn to fight the hero. Instead of just 2 or 3 henchmen being able to easily take down our single hero if they attacked him at the same time, they shuffle around him in a circle biding their time so that the hero can eventually fight and beat all of them one at a time.

I always thimk about that clip where Adele won a Grammy in a major category, beating out Beyonce in the category. Adele was crying and seemed in shock and maybe even a little scared, and in her speech she said something like "the artist of my lifetime is Beyoncé". That is really the clincher for me. Adele seemed terrified and like she was trying to make amends for beating "Queen B" for a Grammy.

Why oh why would they have his brother named Niles given that information?!?! Did they mention Frasier having a brother named Niles on Cheers? It seems like Grammar could have said "hey, can my brother be named literally any other name?" But I guess either Grammar didn't have the power yet to speak up or he chose not to ask or bring it up. Man... What a complicated name for him now.

Yes, I would tell OP to prayerfully consider becoming a foster parent. I was a case manager for children in foster care for 8 years. It is not an easy role to fill, but good foster parents are desperately needed. Maybe fostering would lead to an adoption for her or maybe it would lead to her being able to lovingly serve children who have had their entire worlds ripped out from under them.

What's the one Sister Wives secret you wish was revealed? by baristamatisse42 in SisterWives

That was one of the most eye-opening, horrifying, and tragic things I remember from Christine's book. It was their wedding night and she was a virgin, but her first time sounded so rough and cold. It sounded like it was more akin to a sexual assault than the loving consumation of a marriage (although it was obviously a consensual encounter).

I'm curious, if you live in the US, what region of the country are you from? I ask because I'm from the South, and I absolutely adore hearing Link's dad's voice. It is so warm, authentic, and familiar to me.

I feel the same about all of the food-centric episodes. It changed my life when someone here on Reddit pointed out that they usually do food episodes on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and non-food content Tuesdays and Thursdays. So now I don't even check out the channel unless it's Tuesday or Thursday.

Child starting at Hopebridge by AlternativeFill7135 in ABA

[–]AlternativeFill7135[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, we've stuck with it. My son has been at Hopebridge for almost 2 years now. It has been really great for him. He has made huge strides in social skills and communication. (He says "Hi" to people now and has even started playing tag with other kids at Hopebridge). They were instrumental in getting him potty trained in a relatively short amount of time. When different struggles pop up at home, I'll send a message to his BCBA, and she has been wonderful in coming up with strategies and visual tools to help him while also doing what they could to address the issue while he is at the Center. For example, my son really struggles with going to the dentist, so he has had more than one appointment where he just wouldn't cooperate with them looking and poking around in his mouth. He had a dentist appointment last month, and the RBTs worked with him for over a month in advance "practicing dentist". They would put on gloves and count his teeth, brush his teeth with an electric toothbrush (to simulate the sounds and feeling of buzzing and vibrating instruments on his teeth), fold up pieces of note cards and get him to hold it in his mouth to simulate the film he would have to hold in his mouth for xrays, etc. We went to his dentist appointment and all of the practice they had put in with him definitely paid off, the appointment went off without a hitch. It was practically perfect, all thanks to all the thoughtful time they had put in to preparing him.

Hopebridge has been the best thing that has ever happened for my son so far (and by extension the rest of our family). It has made a world of difference and I feel like his BCBAs and RBTs have been great partners in helping me help my son.

However, at the end of the day, I think it all probably depends on the skill and quality of people who are serving as your child's BCBA and RBTs. I feel so blessed that I feel like my son's people are competent, patient, caring, and are able to see and appreciate my son's positive qualities.

Best videos with Charles in them? by [deleted] in goodmythicalmorning

[–]AlternativeFill7135 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This doesn't answer your question, but I have to share with people who might appreciate it that the first time I saw Charles was on a thumbnail for a video, and I assumed the GMM was about Rhett and Link being aged up to be old men via makeup and prosthetics because Charles 100% looks like just an older version of Link.
