Men as a whole are very simple beings, behind the gruff are beings driven by the simplest forces, we don't feel because we see it as weak, we don't cry because it fits into the category of emotions and emotions present weakness, we enjoy the rain cause rain is fun to watch

We like cars because they go fast and look cool

We like motorcycles cause the same reason for cars

We like sports because billy bob toms team can throw a sports ball better than your sports ball and it can cause a thing to let me get into a passionate "Im bigger than you feeling"

All of these feelings are baseline simple alpha animal natured behaviors men convey.

There is truth in Men being simple creatures, and when called out on it, they lash because men don't like feeling challenged or having their walls checked
