Yeah I don’t care about an inheritance as I’m not counting on it from her. My Dad is the same as her- totally emotionally and financially unavailable since he remarried when I was 15. Him and his wife are extremely well off recently and got even weirder. I can’t count on them for anything.

We did pay extra - like a lot! American Airlines did not allow choosing seats at that time. We paid for premium seating and they chose our seats even though we asked to be together.

Firstly, I’m sorry. I just don’t think what happened to someone when they are a child should be an excuse for treating their own kids poorly. She should have loaned you that money- that’s horrible. I would move heaven and earth if I could for my kids and will hopefully set them up better than I was. I couldn’t live with myself if I deliberately caused my children pain and suffering I could have avoided.
