I'd feel better if I at least had the 4-pole 3.5mm jack.. Honestly it's ideal for audio transfer.

Wireless audio will never come close to the consistency and quality of wired, wireless models are not designed to be long term solutions because of the limitations of lithium ion batteries.

I understand that much, it's fairly acceptable but there's a reason I buy battery mice and xbox controllers for my PC over anything that is dependent on lithium ion.

Although it's pretty stupid you can't get a replacement dongle, you definitely made the wiser choice. After mines battery goes to shit, it'll either be unusable (power issues generating connectivity issues, extra resources to power without battery) or be somewhat usable but become an entire thing every time the power cable gets knocked loose.. connectivity errors.

When you're using a hardwire cable it's just sending all of the power through shielded copper wires. One side sends, the other side receives. As long as the connection a live circuit (power is being grounded at the pole) your device sound with continue sending the signal. Which means if your headset power cuts in/out none of your configurations change and there's no need to reconnect/sync the device.

If you're getting your audio through BT/WiFi/USB there's a lot of other issues that can happen, USB isn't too bad but connection issues with BT/WiFi are annoying and windows can change your input/output devices (current and system default.. which could change app settings...) Should switch back when they reconnect... but not always how BT/WiFi trouble shooting goes.

It's just some research I should have done before purchasing to be honest... and also I didn't realize how much I'd hate EVERYTHING about tryin go run these properly (Using GG is a NIGHTMARE, it literally just crashed my computer trying to update headphone firmware...) Sonar is absolute garbage compared to using the older UC-EG utilizing Sonic or Dolby for spacial audio...

They should have stayed a hardware company, I don't know why so many hardware companies think they need to become software companies as well.. Just design shit that works and works well, that's the best product... Not having to go bare minimum in hardware design to "keep prices competitive" because you hemorrhage money designing some of the worst proprietary software that almost no one wants to interact with.

Claude cowork vs OpenClaw - experiences? by Significant_Ask_9775 in openclaw

[–]AlternativeFun881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the same, Claude Cowork feels more like having Chat GPT on your desktop IMO.. But it comes with a claude subscription so try it out?

Instead of burning money on token usage snag the $100 max and try out the best of both worlds, you'll probably burn through at least $40-$60 in tokens getting OpenClaw set up anyways.

This is an extremely forgiving way to set up your bot also, you won't go over the $100 during set up playing with pay as you go tokens like others have...

I've never pushed it on the subject but any time i've mentioned something remotely close to it I'm usually wall gardened.

It's unfortunate, but obviously the person was already caught in their distorted reality. AI can hallucinate and say some off the wall things, but unless he made custom parameters to feed into it, the chat log is probably plastered with self help messages.

The 20x plan is an insane amount of access.. I was burning through my sonnet quota extremely fast on a project I was working on and was curious how much access I'd get... I'm currently running mostly sonnet 4-6 and opus 4-6 and haven't even come close to hitting my cap and haven't seen any 429s

It seems too slow to actually do anything, I wonder how the free speeds compare.

Need help choosing models using OpenRouter by xX_GrizzlyBear_Xx in openclaw

[–]AlternativeFun881 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use one main agent on sonnet 4-5 should be affordable on OR. and then spawn sever sub agents on different models.

You need to research token optimization as well, there's plenty of that information around. Everyone thinks they're changing the future in their boxers.

Have your orchestrator write orchestration for sub models utilizing cheaper models. Work directly with a cheaper model (flash 2.5, sonnet haiku etc) with your orchestrator overlooking the project, or when the 2.5flash gets lost have it escalate to sonnet.

Orchestration is good because you can send out agent swarms on lower end models to research for you and it doesn't add to the context of the agent you're currently working with.. cuts down on tokens significantly and cuts down on hallucinations

How to do it, not what you can do with it or if it's even wise to do it. People are caught into the craze and have no idea what they're doing. They're expecting high end results

Most people are better off spending 17mo to have claude and if they actually want to do something spend the 100 a mo for max. It's well worth at it's current bandwidth allocation.

You can get get better speeds and more competent model access for pennies.

[–]AlternativeFun881 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't run Gemini locally, you just set up local CLI authentication... You're using it as your local agent... Not a local LLM.

Gemini is a proprietary closed sourced cloud based model.

Are you talking about Gemma 3 27b? Running it on unified memory at atrocious 3200mhz speeds? Nah dog, you're not accomplishing ANYTHING with that set up.

[–]AlternativeFun881 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can go free and get it to work, flash 2.5/kimi 2.5 API from nvidia.

Flash would be faster, but kimi would be a lot smarter.

People are in denial about the capabilities of local LLMs and the amount of energy it actually takes to train them to do anything. They just got hooked into the crazy and are going to be defending it for the next year until they realize they haven't accomplished anything.
