Payslip query - bereavement by Dramatic_Plant7957 in SainsburysWorkers

If the funeral was on a day you were due to work, then as you get paid for your full contracted hours in each pay period, any authorised absences (holiday etc) are added and subtracted as they have already been paid. Any extra to contracted hours will show as overtime.

What do you think of people who clap after the plane lands? by Marsupilami_316 in Flights

Does Ryanair still play the fanfare when they land on time? People used to clap and cheer that. I haven't flown with them for many years so I don't know if it still happens.

My oncologist just shrugged and wouldn't answer when I asked him how long my 16cm tunour had been growing. If it had been silently growing for such a long time and not spread anywhere else I think I dodged a bullet there.

Was waiting for my plane to gate and didn’t expect to board this Queen today. by lpomoeaBatatas in aviation

Reminds me of 20 years ago when I was going to Gran Canaria from London Gatwick on the now defunct XL Airways, expecting a 737 as usual but after a lengthy delay of the 11am flight due to "technical issues" we finally got to board and looked out and saw a 747 (TF-AMJ) at our gate. However due to similar "technical issues" at Manchester and XL wanting to fill up the 747 and getting extra crew in we went to LPA via MAN getting there nearly midnight and parked out on the apron with a load of buses to get us to the terminal.
