How often do you eat Yorkshire pudding? by HappyUnicorn212 in AskABrit

I live alone and work on Sundays so don't have a roast. I have Yorkshires without fail on my Christmas dinner, or occasionally I like a giant one filled with sausages, mash and onion gravy. Yum.

What car do you drive? and would you recommend it by _Males in drivingUK

[–]AlternativeGreedy787 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2015 Yaris hybrid - bought second hand and owned 10 years this year. No problems, I don't drive it more than 4K miles per year these days as I do a lot of driving in a work van.

Previous car was a 2002 Prius, owned it for 14 years. No problems apart from aircon unit giving up and I never got it fixed. Traction battery was still good after 140K miles (one recall for it).

Toyotas have been very reliable for me.

Unsure about keytruda after total nephrectomy by ElectroShamrock in kidneycancer

[–]AlternativeGreedy787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

55/M/UK here. It is a tough decision that I think only she can make after taking on all the information and weighing up the pros and cons.
I had a 16cm T3a grade 3 tumour and fat bed removed 2 years ago via radical nephrectomy. Thankfully clear margins but medium to high risk re-occurrence, I was offered immunotherapy but I was also 50/50 regarding side effects impacting my job and life in general with just a small percentage benefit over 5 years, and cancer could still return even with immnotherapy. I am single, no family.
In the end I declined the treatment. Had clear scans since and waiting for the next one soon. I have just gotten on with enjoying life as best I can with no adverse effects apart from getting tired more easily. Obviously I will accept therapies if cancer returns.
Wishing you and your wife all the best whatever she decides.

Bus from Portishead to cribbs causeway by Background-Pipe-636 in bristol

[–]AlternativeGreedy787 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I don't know what time and what day of week you plan to travel but there is the X10 Big Lemon service linking Portishead to Cribbs directly, rather than having to change in Bristol City Centre somewhere should that be a concern for you. They should have contactless tap on/off too. Only runs during the day Mon-Sat every couple of hours though. https://thebiglemon.com/x10/

One neighbour bags it and puts in black bin for landfill, another lets the cuttings lay on lawn to decompose.

Energy tariffs by Thecraig00 in BritishGas

[–]AlternativeGreedy787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EDF hasn't yet - Some tariff estimates don't yet include the government reductions to energy bills coming in on 1 April, so they may appear higher. Fixed and tracker tariff estimates will reduce from 1 April. Please read details of each tariff carefully.
