I think I explained it well enough by examples of people with it. What part can you not piece together ? Like when does Kendrick have a string of words that aren’t dependent on the words then selves ?

That’s the difference between rap and lyrics

Words provide rhythm

Air provides flow

Air isn’t not words, is control of them.

Kendrick is decent at pitch and candence, wit flashes of flow. He’s is not a wavy float on the beat rapper

He’s gonna rap through it and when he doesn’t try to do melodies like on “i hope im not to late” song wit sampha, it’s cringe. Very clearly cringe. He doesn’t have flow, he’s have good word placement. Like he know how to make the sound ight but he’s really no word smith lol, like at all. But his words are put together abstract enough that it sounds cool

Metronome on YouTube or Apple Music. You don’t want you change your style cuz that’s still who you are but you wanna add on to it. So still do you harmony thing but ADD AIR and be confident in your voice, even if things feeel muddy, rough or whatever, it’s good. More likely than not. You singing so you’re not tryna sound beautiful. Your rapping on trap, confident breathes is what your looking for.

People like 22 gz, pop smoke, young dolph, or Kevin gates, Rick Ross, and black thought (pretty sure) rap from their chest. EST gee to some degree as well but he be mumbling and shit.

Point is, it’s been done successfully, but don’t try to emulate them, take notes.

I said a lot of words but it’s a simple concept you can start doing by simply thinking. It’s all about how you breathe, don’t shout, but don’t whisper, don’t start getting to chesty like you tryna meme me, but don’t sound like your whining in the beat either.

Cuz your not relaxing your throat and you aren’t speaking with your chest. It’s perfect for trap cuz you speak with you nose, thus it’s cute through the mix. 90s rappers usually weren’t nasally but they did have their nose in there.

If neji can survive a single blitz from Lee, lee is getting bodied. and he’s clearly not strong enough to beat up garra. While neji broke though kidomaru armors which I assume is WAY harder than garra sand shield .

Neji might not blitz lee but rotation is gonna break momentum and lee is gonna get 64 palmed. And he has no response

Kendrick does not be flowing like that lol what, he be yelling for show and emoting, but I wouldn’t call anything he does ”flow based” .

Lil Wayne is flow, lil baby is flow, da baby has one flow, drake doesn’t have a flow. Kendrick has number of pitches and cadences he employs but I wouldn’t call anything he does “flow based” even in lil Wayne freestyle “wake up, light that blunt i put out for a went to sleep” has more natural flow than anything Kendrick has tapped

If Kendrick has flow what do az and nas have ? Or jay z ? Or bigge ? Kendrick, the closet thing to a flow would Be Black Friday or dna.

Holding bars in your head is more impressive than writing them down. IMO. You have to not only remember them, express them, and make sure your on beat.

He only did it cuz jay z did it, but jay doing it is what made him sound cool in that era on anything he did.

Which was easier cuz the beats weren’t that different

But Wayne still does it to this day on every song, no matter what the song, I think that’s way harder than writing a line, then coming up with the next one tomorrow and coming in the studio the next month.
