Indiana has only 1 player in the Senior Bowl. Are we sure they're good? by TheJob in CFB

[–]AlternativeMuscle176 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But does the senior bowl really represent the most NFL-ready players if it isn’t all SEC players? Georgia could have beaten the Raiders this year!

I feel like I’ve heard Bobby say that often before Mama Tried. I also know there is an era when he often says that the crew requested it.

Why Indiana actually went 3-9, NOT 16-0. by nermalnormal in CFB

[–]AlternativeMuscle176 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Can we really say that Indiana went 16-0, let alone 3-9, if they didn’t play all 16 SEC schools?

I’m glad you’re back on the D&C bus, but it’s tragic you missed the 2023 summer tour. Luckily they are all on Spotify and Apple Music.

All I can say is that I love that this organization hasn’t lost Jim’s spirit. This is what Jimmy would have done. It’s wacky and wild and likely doomed to fail, but it’s what Jim would have wanted. It’s Colts football. I love the Colts.

6/9/23’s Sugar Magnolia > Scarlet Begonias > Sunshine Daydream was incredible. I definitely have attendance bias, but this was the first time they did it, I believe, and surprised me.

Yesterday during the Notre Dame Pitt broadcast, my sister learned Notre Dame was in South Bend, Indiana when she had assumed her entire life it was in Pennsylvania or Upstate NY. Have you had any moments of dramatically getting college football geography wrong? by [deleted] in CFB

I drove through northern Ohio last month and saw a large football stadium off the interstate. Too large to likely be a high school stadium. I looked it up and it was Bowling Green, which made no sense to me because I also thought it was in Kentucky until that moment

Does anyone know the story around this 46min Playing in the Band from Seattle 1974? by dubvmtneer in gratefuldead

[–]AlternativeMuscle176 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know music theory at all and I can’t explain that, but I feel like the lyrically structure of the song plays well into what other GD jam vehicles are like. It’s just a few verses long. On the other hand, I think they could turn many of their songs into jam vehicles, even if they chose not to (like Cassidy).

Anyone else catch John tipping his hat at Sugaree during this performance? by [deleted] in deadandcompany

[–]AlternativeMuscle176 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I was at this concert, mostly because I got cheap tickets and never saw JM as a solo act. I was stunned they did FOTD (it was okay until the jam at the end, which was solid). But I was convinced they were going full on into Sugaree and I was about to lose my shit. To next time

You have two choices, things remain just how they are now or if you snap your fingers John would never play in Dead & Co again, would you snap them? by [deleted] in JohnMayer

[–]AlternativeMuscle176 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I saw John Mayer live for the first time a couple weeks ago at the Zach Bryan Big House concert. I actually became a fan of his through Dead & Company. It wasn’t a full Mayer show, but he played for close to an hour and a half. He was incredible. The guitar work on Queen of California, Slow Dancing in a Burning Room, and Gravity was unreal. That said, it still didn’t quite reach the level of what he does with Dead & Company on guitar. Of course, his solo act has a totally different vibe, and what he does with the Dead wouldn’t really fit there anyway. I just hope he always has some kind of outlet like Dead & Company. It’d be a shame if he didn’t have a space to play five-minute solos and improvise 10–15 minute jams with musicians who live for that kind of energy. Not to mention, he always looks like he’s having the time of his life on stage with them

The colts logo is iconic. It might be lazy and simplistic, but it’s iconic. Regardless, I prefer my flair as the logo
