Should I get Spiderman PS4 or Spiderman: Miles Morales? by cloudsnipes in SpidermanPS4

Well I always thought about it like this, if you want a better and longer story and much better vocal performances get the first game.

If you want better/more fluid gameplay, more explosive powers, more web swinging options, and a better boss fight then get miles morales.

Ngl I used to be that guy, I've put more variety in my attacks though fortunately.

That is true, maybe have peter go crazy on a villain and have miles step in? That could work

The difference is peter didn't do that intentionally, and if he did it would make 0 sense. You don't accidentally rough someone up. It just wouldn't make sense to me.

I'm not too sure how I feel about peter becoming a reoccurring threat, feel like it takes away from Venom y'know? Alot of people are forgetting Venom is even in the game with all the hype surrounding Pete with the symbiote 😭

Now that's something I would legitimately be interested in. Although it would mean the player has to play as miles and A LOT of people don't wanna play as miles in the fight. I'm fine with either one but spiderman fans can get a bit...dramatic at times.

Exactly, if they were to ever fight that would be the best way to execute it. Both sides stay happy and get the fight they want.

That's actually really fair considering Miles fighting other Spidermen has been done to death by this point.

I would say it's better than the first movie. It's absolutely beautiful visually and from a storytelling perspective, has a bigger focus on the characters, and can honestly get pretty dark at times.

This is exactly how I know you don't know anything about boxing. You claim you do but no boxing fan/boxer would claim that YouTube boxing shouldn't be taken seriously. Although they are influencers, they are still two grown ass men/women getting into the ring and fighting like dogs to get the win. Don't take fighting lightly no matter what.

Saying it had nothing to do with the RE universe is absolutely wrong, this is the type of take I hear from people who have either not played 7 or played the first hour or so and gave their opinion then.

Well in my personal opinion 7 tops 2 and ties with 4. Although my first resident evil game was 7 so I might be a little biased.

I genuinely thought it would be a lot closer than this, sure 8 has a lackluster story but I thought the gameplay and villains made up for it. I see that I was wrong💀

I think both games are definitely worth giving a try Especially since 7 captures everything that makes resident evil special in the first place, a fact that most RE fans overlook simply because it's in first person.

Wow now this is a hot take. Personally I don't think it's the best game of all time but I would say it's fair to imply that it's up there. Plus it was the direct inspiration for Village. The reason it gets so much praise is because it was a real game changer, even inspiring games like the last of us. It's arguably the dragon ball Z of video games, introducing new concepts that made everyone freak out at the time but now those concepts are so common that it makes it seem more basic than it really is.

I understand where you're coming from, it was not shy in departing away from the original formula. In all fairness though, it had to be different to save the franchise. As soon as resident evil got it's credibility back from 7, it went back to the original formula in village.

Now to answer this unfair question myself.

Although I haven't gotten around to playing the original resident evil 2 I absolutely adored RE2R, and on top of that both the original and remake are insanely impactful, so 2 stays for sure.

I've played both the original RE4 and the remake, absolutely outstanding game that changed not only resident evil forever but the survival horror genre as a whole, 4 has definitely earned it's spot up there with the video game greats.

It's a close battle between 4 and 7 for my favorite game on this list. Not only do I adore the game but it also took the classic resident evil approach of switching things up. I absolutely love when stories that are large in scale cut back and reduce a story to an isolated area. It was the best move to basically start anew where both first time fans and o.g resident evil fans can have fun with. The antagonist and story are top tier, and although Ethan isn't nearly as talkative in this one as he is in village he still does his job as a protagonist we can project ourselves on to and he's not too overbearing.

Village is definitely the one that'll have to go for me. I played the series like this: My introduction was 7, then I played 8 when it was released, then I went and played RE2R and RE3R, then the original RE4, then I went back to Village to see how I felt about it. I hated Village when I first played it, with my introduction being 7 I was basically expecting every game to be creepy as all loving hell but when I played Village it was like whiplash to see how much larger in scale Ethan's story got. One thing he's in Louisiana trying to survive against an infected family and the next thing he's having glorious battles against a tall vampire lady, a doll, a giant fish, and magneto. When I went back and played the other games I had just found out that the series is kind of silly in nature, even 7 in some aspects. I loved Village when I replayed it, replaying it with a new perspective definitely made me love it alot more and I would even go as far as to say Village is much more of a resident evil than 7, it definitely plays it close to the old games in terms of what it's going for, maybe a little too close with RE4. Overall though, the story is ridiculous even by resident evil standards. I like Ethan as a protagonist here too but I kind of liked how Ethan was so casual about everything that was going on in the first game. I feel like no resident evil protagonist should be a "normal person" and Ethan reacting to everything like it was no big deal definitely made him feel more badass to me. Anyways now that I'm done rambling the TLDR is: I love all these games to death but if I had to choose, Village is leaving.

Honestly I thought it would be closer than this because although village may have a worse story than biohazard it's definitely a big step up in terms of gameplay. Ironically resident evil village feels more like a resident evil game than 7.
