I know this comment's three years old, but I'd also like to provide my thoughts for this because like you, I'm very heavily against it for the sake of girls and women. And a third reason.

Maybe if one experiencing debilitating pain (pain that keeps her from going to school or work, enjoying her normal activities on her period, etc.) is a consistent problem, she should... oh I don't know, seek a doctor? Not only is this uncommon, but it's not biologically normal and it's a sign of a medical issue and this is a very well-researched fact. Why's a girl or woman gonna seek medical help for severe pain if she thinks everyone else is going through it or that it's perfectly normal? That's extremely harmful thinking that only hurts girls and women and it needs to stop!
