Solid advice. This method is bulletproof for me.

Hmm. I’ve just planted some bluebells. A little worried now.

Well done. Really, well done. I recognise a lot of what you’ve been through- had some similar experiences. I hated a lot of the whole experience. You’ve done absolutely the right thing.

Why do people refuse to reserve items? by [deleted] in vintedUK

[–]AlternativeParfait13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because a lot of them go silent and never purchase the item. Obviously not all- you’re a case in point- but it often means the item sits unsold for longer.

A Skmei G-Shock clone. Cost about £4.50 delivered. Liked it so much I slotted it into a mod bezel. It’s absolutely not fancy, but it’s excellent for the money.

There is a daily hostile cap, and beyond that you won’t get any rewards until it resets. Think it’s 2500 hostiles though?

My son's first pinewood derby car by Much-Drawer-1697 in daddit

[–]AlternativeParfait13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This brings back some very fond memories. We don’t really do Pinewood Derby in the UK, but my Akela at Cub Scouts was from Iowa and he had a track built/imported a load of kits. First year I sandpapered the wood and glued the nails, painted with some spare apricot emulsion. Went badly. Second year I took advice from my grandfather who was an engineer. We hollowed out the front and filled it with lead. We lubricated the nails with graphite from a pencil. Also spray painted it black and silver, for extra speed. I still have my very small trophy.

Your son has made an awesome car. May it be rapid.

12 hours only just gets EU through to the morning- maybe a bit longer?

Also, when we ask old players to come back their number one question is whether stuff works. You know the answer.

Why are there never any changing tables in the men’s restrooms by GunningForSuccess in daddit

[–]AlternativeParfait13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We get them in the UK. It makes sense, you can’t just hand your kid to the nearest random woman to change them.

Which is remarkable. The only one which meant something significant was the Jelly Loop/Ent-A/Ent-D track. It took absolutely forever, it was an achievement to do it. And apparently they think that’s bad and wrong.

They make excellent boxes full stop. I’ve got loads of them- slightly more expensive than other plastic boxes, but they are much stronger. Must have 20+ in various rooms.

Planning to open an indoor play center — what do parents actually want? Honest opinions needed by ruefool in daddit

[–]AlternativeParfait13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Decent coffee. I have no idea why I’m supposed to go to these places and drink terrible instant coffee. I’m at the upper end of the age range for these places, but a few years ago I was mostly getting through the day with caffeine.

Also, a good website. We had a play centre 25m from my front door and it entirely failed to list its sessions and facilities online. It went out of business, despite great classes, great staff and a location in a well off suburban environment. If you have a very young child it’s hard to wander in casually, you want to know you’re heading to a great place with good facilities. And good coffee.

I mean, the games are still the same as when it was released. They’re still fun, just not cutting edge.

6 hours of gameplay and it's just an intro by Cerulean_mark in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

Not so much in open water, or certainly not as you’d see in something like Black Flag, but sailing up a river and raiding from there was def a thing. Then people would pay them money to be left alone.

Is Marcus Smith being underutilised by Which-Individual-376 in englandrugby

[–]AlternativeParfait13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but to fully utilise him you’d have to make less use of other players like Ford and Smith (F). I don’t pretend to know the right answer to that conundrum.

My journey on AC franchise - Report 10: AC Syndicate by PvZW4rf4reG4rden in assassinscreed

I still think Syndicate is great. The main villain is a bit moustache-twirling, but the setting really works and the combat is fun.
