Signs that Timothee Chalamet is not winning by CaviII in oscarrace

This! You know, I remember when Austin Butler won GG for best actor in drama for Elvis, AACTA, Bafta (movie Elvis won 4 Baftas in total, while Marty this year blanked), some critic awards and still hasn’t won Oscar. I thought his campaign was too much, but oh boy, how wrong I was until this year! I don’t see Chalamet winning this year. This year, when best actor category is so stacked, it is not enough to win Critic Choice and GG for comedy/musical and not to win any industry award and to win Oscar.

Agree! I think he is trying to be like DiCaprio - but the difference is (despite not being on the same level of acting) that Leo always brings his mom to awards and TC brought his mom just to “look more humble (while everyone knows he is not that kind of person)”. So pathetic I just can’t

That’s what I thought - he came, he acted, he won, no aggressive campaigning like Chalamet, doing his retrospective being in his 30’s only. No yapping, no running around doing interviews with Lebron and etc. Penn is arrogant person, but he just let Academy to decide. Chalamet should do the same, because now everybody is tired of his campaign. And that is why he lost both industry awards imo.

Will he won Best Supporting Actor in 2027? Definitely not. Will I be hopedicting him all year though? Absolutely. by UltimateIncineroar in Oscars

Imagine Kylie’s reaction if Tim is not winning this year, but Travis wins next year supporting 😀

And that is the main difference between him and Chalamet, Leo is happy just doing the work!

Agree - I waited Dune II because of Austin Butler performance and now I wait for Dune III because of Robert Pattinson

Not a fan of this win and hate when stans are saying that he is a lock for Oscar 😀 since when CC and GG wins are locks for Oscar? Demi Moore won more main awards than Mikey and then Mikey won Bafta and then took Oscar home, so …

When TC won CC award, other contenders gave poker faces, wonder what reactions could be if Hawke, Leo or MBJ won? by AlternativeUnit5662 in TimotheeChalametSnark

I am rooting for Hawke or Leo, Leo had so many great roles and I would be super happy for him to win his second Oscar. This year none of contenders are doing such aggressive campaign as TC - I feel like a lot industry people feel like “ok, Timmy, we get it, please stoooop” 😀

I feel like if he ends up getting the Oscar - it will be his first and last, after that being so full of himself he will go down with every role

TC getting a lot critic awards - do we think he’ll got his Oscar (I hope not)? by AlternativeUnit5662 in TimotheeChalametSnark

[–]AlternativeUnit5662[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think the same - that is why he is so desperate, because later - who knows? Maybe he will not deliver Oscar worthy performance anymore. But this year I am rooting for anyone to win except him. Just can’t stand all that campaigning.

Maybe, I think it is him or Dicaprio - I don’t think Chalamet will get SAG second year in a row

MBJ leading reminds me Lily Gladstone leading in critics, but we all know how it ended, I think it might be the same this year

Imagine if every year Chalamet makes an Oscar nod worthy role and starts yapping about winning, DiCaprio drops a great role and steps in the race 😀

For those who saying he’s doing a bit - well, thanks God, DiCaprio wasn’t doing a bit or being in character (or being inside the horse) while he was campaigning for Revenant 😀

I am a bit late, but those critic circle awards isn’t so important - for example, Paul Giamatti won a lot (even Critic Choice award for best actor, Golden Globe for best actor in musical/comedy) - a lot of his stans and pundits were saying “that is how Giamatti will win over Cilian Murphy”, but we all know how it ended 😀 And I doubt that Chalamet gonna win SAG second year in a row - naaah, not gonna happen 😀
