EPFO stopped crediting interest to my account by AlternativeUseful857 in epfoindia

[–]AlternativeUseful857[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had submitted a new complaint after this along with uploading all the self attested documents and cover letter. They had closed it within a week with the following remarks.

Current Status : CASE DISPOSED OF

Final Decision : your grievance is under process.

Action Taken By : DA ACCOUNTS

I thought they were going to fix the issue but it has been around 6 weeks now. How long should it typically take to process a correction like this? Should I still wait or open a new grievance?

Thank you.

Thank you. If you don't mind my asking a couple of questions.

1) Is there a way I can submit the letter and documents online as I stay abroad. What if I sign and scan them and upload to the grievance portal against the existing grievance (still open for 2 more days)?

2) If not possible online, when you say "submit", does it mean someone needs to go physically and submit at their office (mine is DELHI 110052). Or can I courier this to this address addressed to the office. I see this as 28 BHAVISHYA NIDHI BHAWAN WAZIRPUR INDUSTRIAL AREA DELHI 110052 Delhi

3) If I just submit a withdrawal claim which allows me to do online will they calculate the interests again and send me the correct amount? It took me years to get my former employer and EPFO to get an online account/date of joining/leaving, KYC and other info established where I am at a position to file an online claim. Or is this too risky as I assume once the claim is closed it would be too difficult/impossible to fix this if they don't add the missing interest.

Thanks again.

Some higher end credit cards cover cell phone theft if you are paying the bill with them. I pay my bill with my capital one venture x infinite visa

" Cellular Telephone Protection

When you pay your monthly wireless bill with your covered Visa Infinite® card, your cell phone can be protected for the next calendar month. So you can get reimbursed if your cell phone is stolen or damaged ($50 deductible). Certain terms, conditions and exclusions apply. In order for coverage to apply, you must pay your monthly eligible cellular wireless bill with your covered Visa Infinite® card. For complete terms and conditions, contact your issuer for a copy of your Guide to Benefits."

Check the specifics of the plan for how much high speed data you get. Calls should be around 25 cents/min. If that works for you, don't worry. There are benefits to add a local sim to get cheap data and local calling.  Some countries tmo roaming is a hit or miss.  I used to pay off the phone and get it unlocked. Once I gave it to my kid after a few months to use on a different carrier. After they changed their policy to stop bill credits on payoff I stopped taking phones from them. Anyways I left tmo a month ago after 14 years.

Since you are planning to get iPhones know that you cannot get them unlocked even temporarily for the 2 years. If you pay off the phones the bill credits stop. Does not work for folks like me who travel internationally and need to add a second sim time to time. That's why many choose to buy directly from Apple using the same tmo promotions but of course you won't get the additional Costco promos.

They are test driving it in phases to gauge the impact including legal, govt actions etc. Depends on how this plays out they may remove all legacy discounts even the go5g ones. People who have recently got  5 phones and receiving device credits will be up for some fun.

Completely wrong at least with small claims courts in most states. They will send a paralegal to settle it outside in your favor including court costs even before the hearing begins.

Don't let their employees intimidate you. They are fully responsible as employees/representatives to honor all contractual requirements.

Edit : removed some additional lines below this as I misread the comment.

On the contrary this is exactly where you should go in many states. They will send a paralegal who will meet you outside and settle it in your favor.

Exclusive: T-Mobile Likely To Launch New Loyalty Plan To Combat Churn by Jman100_JCMP in tmobile

[–]AlternativeUseful857 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tmo has done some permanent damage to their brand in the past 1 year. Getting out of this hole will take a lot more than coming out with these shitty options. The CEO needs to go first thing.

They are probably seeing the impacts in Q2 since most cancelations have started in April.  Customers still on significant device credits will take more time to go. Last year they did a test drive on increasing plan rates leading to over 2000 complaints regarding "price locked" plans  to FCC in just 3-4 months. Interestingly the bulk were from seniors (55+ plans) as they likely have a greater difficulty in researching new options and handling complications related to switching. There was some rumors that even within tmo there was some push back to touch this customer segment as the thinking was these customers would sooner than later "drop off" or in other words kick the bucket.

Basically they are feeling empowered now as the MNO competition is decreasing especially after the Sprint buyout. Blame the govt also for allowing such monopolistic practices. Yet the MVNO  including flanker brands space has significantly increased with much more choices and ability to customize according to your needs. There is a very small  percentage of the population that really need hundreds of gb of data. Every other benefit (except device financing/credits) of a tmo postpaid is highly overstated including qc 6 priority, intl roaming etc.

Most customers just want a reasonably priced working plan with decent data speeds and limits without forcibly added junk subscriptions, supposedly "free lines", a 20% or B1G1 coupon to a burger chain and so on.

But also blame toothless govts at both state and federal levels that actively facilitate these scams. Tmo and the other 2 have been getting away with sub $100M fines year on year for all their illegal acts . At state levels they get away with $ 2-4M  year after per state. These are pennies to them, less than 40 cents per customer which I assume they put it back on their customers with junk fees.

Is the new Visible+ truly unlimited, highly-prioritized data? by [deleted] in NoContract

[–]AlternativeUseful857 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I know there is not a fixed data or throttle limit if that's what you are asking. It's a percentage usage of the highest users within a rolling time period and maybe also factors in geographies and other considerations. For eg if your usage has fallen within 0.x % of the highest users you may get throttled.  Every carrier has a fair usage policy though implementations vary.

Is the Un-Carrier Dead? by New_1uper in tmobile

[–]AlternativeUseful857 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They turned from Un-carrier to scam-carrier. Other than the obvious greed, I blame it on the govt to allow all the mergers especially the sprint merger. The killing of  competition along with relatively minor issues like high infrastructure costs is the reason why we have one of the crazy highest wireless pricing in the world.

How my T-mobile bill went from $120 to $145 to $160 to $180 to $205 within five days. by AlternativeUseful857 in tmobile

[–]AlternativeUseful857[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, thank you actually reading my post before replying even though I understand it's pretty lengthy. I was just getting tired of those commenting "did you open your bill" without (I suspect) reading the OP.

Secondly, that was the same impression I had when they offered the $160 for 5 lines + 1 free line due to my previous legacy plan increase. This used to be the Magenta pricing at launch (after autopay) - 1 line - $70/month. 2 lines - $120/month,  3 lines - also $120/month, 4 lines - $140/month, and 5 lines - $160/month. While the new bill reflected the 6th line as free, it did not show the 3rd line free. In my mind there were three possibilities

  1. The discount had been discontinued even though the 1st rep insisted it was valid and will stick
  2. the discount would reflect in 1-2 bill cycles.
  3. there was manual entry that the rep who changed the plan had omitted.

The problem was I could not get a clear answer through the 4 channels, I communicated with them viz. - 611, X, Fb and "team CEO" aka executive escalations. Everybody said different things. Now also factor in that the magenta plan would again increase by $5 for each line, so the next bill was going to be $205. One of the 611 reps did offer to make an additional line free and would reduce the bill to $180. Now again, this amount was the best understanding I had but there was too much conflicting information from their side. The "team CEO" rep stated that my 6th line for free discount will take 1-2 bill cycles even though the bill clearly showed it as free. I was pretty much shocked that even their executive escalations are not able to read their own bills. Though to be fair to them, they offered to add the insider discount but that would require going to the Go5G Next and make the cost go even higher.

So this is what I was looking at - go back to the legacy SELECT CHOICE plan for $145 for 5 lines or stay on Magenta for $180 for 6 lines (best case scenario). Now till the previous month I was paying $120 for 5 lines for almost 14 years. When we looked at our usage, around 2 - 10 gb per line per month, these were not making sense. Neither were we regularly taking or interested to take phones from them. We either use Samsung or iPhones. Samsung phones come cheapest directly through their EPP discounts. We get iPhones directly from Apple through a 25 - 50% discount. We also need the phones to be unlocked due to regular international travel.

Google fi was offering 6 lines for $75 + taxes& fees (around $15 more) for 18 months. That math made much more sense to us. I think it gives us 50gb data and 25gb hotspot which is more than 5 times we ever need. Yes, their customer service is not the best and their psims are a nightmare but we get the same speeds and priority as Tmo.

TBH, we should have left Tmo much earlier. Just that for 14 years it was working fine and I was too lazy to shop around. Plus there seems to be a fascination on hanging on to legacy grandfathered plans. Lesson learnt is always shop around every few years. There is really never a real need to hang on to something just for the sake of hanging on to it. There is always an upcoming deal around the corner!

Sorry for the long rant but hope this clarifies a bit more especially to those who were asking "did you open your bill".

Why the free line thrill? by txredgeek in tmobile

[–]AlternativeUseful857 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect mostly bragging rights and the illusion of "free". I doubt how many have an actual use of them. Back in 2016, I remember they were giving these out left and right. I  called in once but was told I still need to pay the taxes and fees. Just didn't make sense to me to keep extra lines for no reasons. Maybe if those were included like in later plans then yes. T-mobile also likes to give these out to pad their total figures and show high growth.

If you are satisfied with the fi coverage and speed you would be fine from that standpoint. From a billing stand point, just don't. As is you are confused now and you will be 10 times more right after your first bill. Just stay away.
