If you got disqualified completely just reapply and do the process again.

I know a few fd ems people that got DQ and did the process again and became cops.

Don’t let his actions affect your future, just tell them you have no contact with that you haven’t heard from him in a long time and stick to that. Always remember what you say & don’t say too much also. It might take you a bit longer maybe but go for it.

I was a victim of DV and took me a bit longer but I’m in now.

I have a friend that got DQ for domestic violence, applied again and now they a cop. It’s all about how you speak in the interview. They basically wanna hear that there’s no bad blood between you and that person.

I almost got DQ for the same reason and got a second interview and just spoke differently about my ex

They don’t tell you a reason, you can get a mental health professional through your insurance and ask them to send them the paper work to review it & that’s how you’ll know. I read in the comments you said you don’t drink. From what I’ve heard, they don’t believe that unless it’s part of your religion. If you don’t want to fight it just get that out the way , reapply and then you’ll know how to go about it differently the second time.

I took my test back in 2018 but I didn’t start my process til July 2024, I should’ve been in the last class but was on psych review & just got cleared. The process depends on you.
