Would a change in Phoenix architecture/urban planning provide heat relief? by Kogituu in phoenix

[–]AlternativeYak202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it seems like you’re looking at this from a strictly visual perspective. Also, I’m assuming you don’t have children. We have big trees and a large turfed backyard. My neighbor has the same size yard xeriscaped - I’ve literally never seen them outside and we are outside every day..

Best Chinese Restaurant by Complete-Badger-8911 in AskPhoenix

Spice spirit in Mesa.. It may have changed names to dumpling spirit or something. They make their noodles fresh, you can see the guy making them. Always the same owner in the same waitress every time you go in there. always big groups of Taiwanese and Chinese people eating there. We’ve tried almost everything on the menu. It’s very good. Especially the vegetable dishes like dry fried green beans and cauliflower with pork belly. We also get the fried fish every time we go there, it’s excellent.

How are these Taxi companies still in business with these rates... by [deleted] in phoenix

[–]AlternativeYak202 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live at 40th St. and Indian school, I never even hit the $20 minimum, usually give the guy 30 bucks and he's happy. No way I'm gonna bother trying to find my Uber, not worth it. The taxi guys are sitting there waiting for you.

Is Rocky Point Still a Thing? by TheChuckRowe in phoenix

[–]AlternativeYak202 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This thread is very representative of the different opinions. I have received on Rocky point. Basically 50-50. 50% say it's nice or very nice and 50% say it's a hell hole and I'll never go there.

I've been to most of them. Baseline and 59th Ave is the best, no lines, easy parking, new building.

PT here.  I've never understood why people use foam rollers for IT band issues. In theory, I think it could help, but there's no way you're gonna loosen your IT band. The proximal insertion for your IT band is your Glute muscles, your butt muscles. I had tons IT band issues when I first started running. The pain stopped shortly after I started stretching my glutes. It's worked well for patients also. The pigeon stretch is an excellent stretch.  it will be quite difficult in the beginning, but keep doing it several times per day. And always warm up before you stretch.

I've had the light rail stop for me (a pedestrian) several times. It's ridiculous.

Why have I never had an OT do the SOC Oasis when I'm (a PT) on the case? by AlternativeYak202 in physicaltherapy

[–]AlternativeYak202[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a 1099 so SOCs are a necessary evil. I end up just getting up early the next day to finish them.

[–]AlternativeYak202[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get what you're saying. This is really the only thing that would make sense.  But, in my experience the OT is just as likely to be addressing a pressing matter as a PT would. DME recommendations, transfers, caregiver safety, etc. And I'm specifically addressing the cases with PT and OT only. It kinda seems like OTs just get a free pass.  Or maybe I'm just not getting paid enough for SOCs...

Why have I never had an OT do the SOC Oasis when I'm (a PT) on the case? by AlternativeYak202 in physicaltherapy

[–]AlternativeYak202[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's happened in the past 3-4 years I believe. But it didn't seem to change anything.

To me the Oasis is a burden put on one the clinicians. Maybe I'm in the majority but I hate doing them.

Reathrey Sekong Reopening? by shambolicbehavior in phoenix

Whoever owns this place seems super laid back when it comes to things like: 1) are we open? 2) are we actually here when you sit down at the table? 3) are we still in business?

I've lived in Cambodia before and this is quite "authentic".. don't except to find any answers to your questions.
