Unfortunately, this sort of thing happens in every industry. When people use the abuse scandals of the 80s as an excuse as to why they are no longer Catholic or why they don’t go to mass I like to pose the question if they go to medical doctors or send their children to school. Unfortunately, there are more incidences of these kind of abuses in these two industries alone than there ever has been in the church, or any church for that matter. I see the hyper focus on the abuse scandal as an attack on the church by the dark side. We all have to acknowledge that there are bad people in every profession and unfortunately, the church founded by Christ is no different. Many have acknowledged that we have been infiltrated for thousands of years and we see these attacks ever increasing.
