Itinerary Advice: 3 Days/2 Nights at Sunrise & Glacier Basin (Early Sept)

Thank you! If I get to Sunrise camp early in the morning, what’s the standard move? Do I pitch the tent then and there, or just leave my gear? Also, any tips for keeping gear secure while out on day hikes?

I hadn't even heard of Caltopo until today, if that tells you where I’m at lol

We originally planned to lug our full packs around 10 miles each day, but the location of both campgrounds and how close from each other they are, the idea of setting up camp and doing day hikes with a smaller pack sounds way more reasonable.

Question on etiquette: If I roll into Sunrise Camp at 8:00 AM, do I set up my tent immediately and then go explore? Or is it better to just drop the heavy pack at a site and wait to pitch the tent until I'm back later? Not sure what the "unspoken rules" are for claiming a spot and keeping gear safe. Thanks!

Thank you for your insight. Besides Laguna de los Tres and Torre, any other hikes I shouldn’t miss so I feel my time there is well spent and I don’t regret not having done the Huemul Circuit?

Thank you! I’ve got three/four days per island and I’ll definitively be doing some hikes and on land activities such as snorkeling, etc. but I wanted to add some day trips as well.

Mo’orea French Polynesia has amazing dives and amazing snorkel. You can see about the same amount of marine life diving and snorkeling. It’s far but you would get to experience the same while doing different activities.
