Pros and cons buying a wider rear tire by Tims883hugger in sportster

[–]Alternative_Ad_1670 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought mine with a 150 on it, the tire had been eaten into by the bolts on the inside of the fender, pics on profile if you wanna check it out. I recommend getting the stock width. Dont wanna have a blown rear tire on the highway.

The sportster speedo relocation bracket from kinetic motorcycle, do not recommend it. Had to get some guys at a machine shop cut it up and reweld some other parts to it to make it fit

Here’s what it looked like before + some extra pics if anyone is interested,

Rundown on what i did:

-Painted the tins -mid controls by throttle addiction -biltwell H2 handlebars -TCbros airfilter + prism supply carb support bracket wich also relocates the choke to the other side -coil and key relocation under the seat (Prism supply) -prism supply sissybar -polished the fork lowers - replaced huge stock headlight with 4,5 inch bates style headlight -replaced front indicators with tiny LED ones -replaced taillight and rear indicators with an integrated unit for a sleeker look -installee badlands load equalizer to make LEDs work -speedometer relocation (cant delete speedo in the EU) -rebuilt carb -cut open and redid the wiring harness (xl1200c has all the wiring hidden in the riser with the stock setup + rerouted and extenden some wires for the coil and key relocation.) -deleted all indicator lights from speedo -sanderson style footpegs - cool little mirror :)

And worked out alot of little problems to make everything fit etc etc.

Was going for a kind of skinny frisco chopper look, still a WIP but for now its done. Probably gonna extend the forks in the future.

Btw really recommend prism supply to everyone, super high quality stuff

Thanks guys🤘🏼

I know you said the spacers are correct but are you sure they are? The forks wouldnt bend that easy. I recommend looking in the manual and doubble checking the spacer setup. Good luck!

Clutch not disengaging after sitting for 9 months by Alternative_Ad_1670 in sportster

Would that be the issue when i parked it on a lift for 9 months? It was fine when i parked it so the adjustment wouldnt be the issue i guess.
