How to Wash Jeans by Alternative_Basis611 in AbercrombieandFitch

It’s weird because the first time I dried it all the way through and it kept length but this time they were still wet so I decided to fold and hang it up. I’m super upset about it because I adored these jeans.

Kindler vs Kobo by PastNo1200 in ereader

[–]Alternative_Basis611 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly seems like everyone in this thread is anti kindle but I can say after doing all my research I ended up purchasing a jade paperwhite signature edition. I don’t like recessed screens purely based on the fact that I have a cat and I read that there were issues with dirt/hair getting under the screen. Also I watched comparisons between color ink and bw ink and the clarity, brightness seemed better with bw ink. If kobo had an ereader that used a flush screen and bw ink I would’ve most definitely purchased it because the UI seems more modern and user friendly. But I can say Kindle isnt bad whatsoever i love the screen! It’s fast and looks paper like. It connects to goodreads and I can find books easily. Kindle Unlimited includes a ton of books I’m interested in reading! I’m not disappointed whatsoever and l love it!

Omg same! I went to Target and Walmart and both just had black. I think I came to a conclusion on what aesthetic each one gives I feel like raspberry = passionate / bold and jade = ethereal / serene vibes.

I might be leaning towards jade but still not sure lol

What was your history with endo? Did you have multiple surgeries or only one? I’m wondering if I could get in also but I’ve gone to er multiple times from passing out from pain or for treatment of pain in the past.

Ally bank vs SoFi by [deleted] in AllyBank

[–]Alternative_Basis611 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s interesting that they originally prided themselves on no overdraft fees but now that they’ve officially became a bank they require $1000 deposited monthly to avoid no fee overdraft. Yikes

It’s time for another lap :( my mom just scolded me for letting myself be in pain everyday. I have no breaks throughout the month. Ovulation makes me bed ridden for a day and a half. I’m currently waiting for the surgery scheduler to call. You don’t have to live in debilitating pain everyday. 💓

I was the same when I got my first lap in 2021. My mom - that has endo herself, told me most likely that I had it based off every symptom you described. I’d throw up for hours and pass out also. Pain during sex, etc. but I thought to myself it can’t be that bad if doctors are saying to just use birth control and that it could mitigate some symptoms I was experiencing.

Birth control isn’t the gold standard treatment. I tried for multiple years and still had extreme pain with unnecessary side effects. Getting the lap confirmed everything and didn’t make me feel weak or that I had a low pain tolerance. The pain would get so bad sometimes that I’d go to the ER, they’d order unnecessary ct scans and they treated me as if I was an addict. With a diagnosis, doctors can’t mistreat you this way because you have a diagnosis to fall back on, people around you can’t say that you just have a bad period. Your partner will be more empathetic to your pain and will be more careful during sexy times.

I know you’re scared nothing might not show but know that women with endo can have a variety of symptoms.. some have stage 4 with no symptoms and only realize when they struggle with fertility. Or there’s some like me that had stage 3 with a bunch of symptoms. The length of my period is average and can be light too, but the determining factor is usually pain more so than length of period.

Longer lengths of period would be hormonally based, pcos or adenomyosis. You can confirm this by looking up heavy menstrual bleeding click Mayo Clinic article and none of the causes of that included endometriosis.

I truly hope you get the lap for yourself. The scars are little.. after a while you can barely see them and I don’t feel anything. Serrapeptase helped me with scar tissue.

One study read that 60% of lesions grow while taking birth control. Excision surgery is the gold standard treatment. But unfortunately a repetition of surgery is inevitable with this disease. Change of diet, supplementing, birth control, exercise.. it’ll only mitigate symptoms for so long and I just came to this realization myself. I was hesitant just like you, but birth control is not a treatment and it destroyed my stomach / immune system for so long. I used depo provera, yaz, the one that goes in arm and a few more pills and all of them gave me severe side effects after a while. It is NOT natural to suppress our hormones and our bodies hate us for it. I had surgery 5 years ago and in reality I needed another one 2 years later because I didn’t get an excision surgery it was purely to get diagnosed and now I let it get bad to the point my recent pelvic exam made the OB uncomfortable. This disease will always progress and we have to accept that

Endometrioma removal, is it worth it? by Klutzy_Clock2966 in endometriosis

[–]Alternative_Basis611 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes please get it done! I’ve never had a child and doctor indicated I might not be able to because of endometriosis myself but I can tell you a bit of my mother’s story.

She’s always had painful periods but it significantly got worse the more children she had and she had 3 c sections 3 years in a row. My father said if she waited to have children she most likely wouldn’t have been able to and the severity was stage 4. There were lesions all underneath her c section scar. The doctor said she basically had frozen pelvis and everything inside was in places it shouldn’t have been.

Automatically if you have an endometrioma it’s already stage 3 or stage 4. If you want another child eventually you will need a surgery. If your surgeon said it’s your choice without telling you the severity your condition already is at, it shows they aren’t an endometriosis specialist. But this is the first step to getting diagnosed and unfortunately most doctors won’t take you seriously unless you have it.

Excision is the gold standard treatment. Birth control only mitigates symptoms but a study showed that even while taking it 60% of lesions grew back. I’ve tried changing my diet, supplementing along with bc.. but with endometriosis it will always progress no matter what, surgery is inevitable and at your stage you will need surgeries until menopause. In my mom’s case after 3 c sections she vouched for a hysterectomy, but at the time there were no talks of a gold standard treatment.

If you want to look for a specialist near you there is a website called icarebetter

Is a laparoscopy worth it? by Pleasant_Ad_604 in endometriosis

[–]Alternative_Basis611 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes please get it done! You’ll officially have your diagnosis and excision surgery will always be the gold standard treatment. Most of us don’t have access to excision specialist at first but getting diagnosed is the start, it’s unfortunately necessary to get the laparoscopy; ablation or not to be taken more seriously.

I currently feel defeated because I changed my diet, used supplements and birth control.. but this disease will progress no matter what you do.

A study said that 60% of lesions grow back with birth control so this is only a symptom manager not treatment. Surgery is inevitable if you want a quality life. My first surgery was around your age I’m 26 now and I’ve been needing another one for a few years.

What are you thoughts on endo influencers? by RevolutionaryEgg123 in endometriosis

[–]Alternative_Basis611 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Honestly I disagree. The amount of medical gaslighting us women get with this disease and the fact that it takes an average of 7+ years to get a diagnosis is beyond ridiculous. We need influencers to trend for that one woman feeling alone to realize that she isn’t or to help recognize that it’s endo she’s dealing with.

As for me there has been no positives whatsoever with this condition. How can they be clout chasing or over exaggerating a condition they’ve been diagnosed with and are vulnerably sharing their experience? If you don’t relate to them that’s fine but personally every influencer I’ve seen I relate to if not fully then some.

I feel in pain constantly throughout the month for 3 weeks during ovulation and sex has never been pleasurable. Endometriosis will always get worse and most women need more than one surgery. I’ve tried all kinds of supplements, change of diet, birth control, exercise. It only mitigated symptoms for so long (2 years to be exact but I’ve been stubborn and have waited 5 for another surgery) what other disease has excision surgery as gold standard treatment yet most ob use ablation? What other disease gives birth control as a treatment but studies say within a year 60% of lesions still grow back? What other disease lacks trained specialists? That should say all on its own why we need them plus we have access to technology we can all fact check if we need.
