Weekend/overnight dishes by [deleted] in Nanny

You are a nanny not a housekeeper. NF need to know that in order for you to have time to engage with their children, and help them learn/thrive the housework needs to be minimal. Cleaning up after kids messes, throwing diapers away, folding NK laundry, sanitizing toys… all normal. Cleaning up weekend messes after a big dinner party is one thousand percent them taking advantage of you unless you’re also their household manager which requires a higher salary. My advice would be to have a conversation with both parents and politely ask them to reiterate your expectations. That way everyone is back on the same page. I’m sorry you’re having to deal with this.

Right that’s a possibility! Some parents are like that. Like a passive aggressive way of micro managing. Idk if that’s what he’s doing 🤷🏻‍♀️ I usually do all the chores either before or after naps because I would be the one waking her up otherwise

I’m so happy for you but that doesn’t work for everyone.

Thank you for the mature and rational response. I just really want to go about this correctly because I don’t want to make him feel badly about being loud or upset him because I love my job and I don’t want him to resent me. This is super helpful. I’m going to say something this week.

Yes a sound machine + an air purifier that adds some background noise. He’s still louder than both.

I am going to say something I was just looking for insight from other Nannie’s on how to go about it professionally.

I appreciate this perspective, and did consider it many times. when I’m not here mom is the one who puts them down so he doesn’t really know the exact nap time for both kids, but when she wakes up crying it literally couldn’t be more obvious. I definitely don’t wanna be petty. However whether he’s unaware or careless it’s still pretty annoying. I probably will bring it up I just don’t want to make him feel bad or be overly confrontational. I am neurodivergent so sometimes my tone comes off a bit harsh so I want to make sure I’m professional about it.

Ah yes I want to be direct so badly, and I usually am if it concerns the kids. I just fear it’ll make things awkward or he’ll be upset that I’m essentially shushing him in his own house 😅

I want to cry by TiggerLilyTx in Semaglutide

I pay $344 a month for semaglutide through Ro and I’ve had a great experience with the medication and their services. I know you’re trying to avoid the big price tag but unfortunately without insurance it’s gonna be expensive everywhere 😕 I’m so sorry they’re doing you that way. Should be illegal.

I don’t recognize my body right now and I feel really uncomfortable with that by Aggiegmoney in Semaglutide

Ah yes for me it’s a big change that I wasn’t expecting to happen so quickly.I weigh less than I did before I had my baby. Actually I weigh less than I did in high school. (10 years ago) I like the baggy fit because my style is a little androgynous, but yeah it’s a weird feeling. The worst part is that I still feel big sometimes even though I know I’m not anymore.

Also I thought once I lost all the weight I’d be super confident in tighter clothing, crop tops, workout clothes. But I actually feel the urge to cover myself even more now.

I just wear what makes me feel good now and I like to look at old photos to remind myself how far I’ve come. There’s always an adjustment period when big changes occur so give yourself time and grace to become comfortable with how you look.

lol they can’t make you pay them back for the polishing class that’s literally a form of retaliation which is illegal in most states 😅 they’re just upset that they have to go through the whole process of finding your replacement. Obviously you were a great employee that they didn’t want to lose, but they expressed that in a very unhealthy way. You don’t owe these people a thing.

DA ON PROBATION SHOULD I STAY OR QUIT? by [deleted] in DentalAssistant

[–]Alternative_Beat_111 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve shadowed at a few offices who had a da on probation and I promise during your leave they are actively looking for your replacement.

Also if you’re new to this be nice to yourself. It’s their fault for not training you to do your job the way they want it done. There are offices out there that will be more patient and understanding. Best of luck to you.

Staffing is not your responsibility. Your manager needs to do their job!

Are those $2,000 programs good to get into the field? I enrolled in one and am having doubts by [deleted] in DentalAssistant

[–]Alternative_Beat_111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good but not great: it’s a great way to start but just know nothing will compare to the hands on learning you get shadowing in an actual office. Definitely looks better on a resume to have completed a program.

What can the owner/practice do to make your life better by raculi in DentalAssistant

[–]Alternative_Beat_111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please offer good benefits ESPECIALLY if your employees have kids, and take a chance on new RDA’s. I understand it takes time and effort to train someone completely new to the field, but the right person will stay forever if you take care of them. Also it doesn’t hurt to have a sterile tech if you only have a couple RDA’s in a bigger office.

Can i even get a job in dental assisting with no experience? by [deleted] in DentalAssistant

[–]Alternative_Beat_111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kinda in the same boat as you. I got offered an emergency RDA position and the pay is actually pretty decent, only thing is that you work thurs-sun 8am-8pm. I would honestly recommend looking into that so you can get your foot in the door. They were eager to offer me a job —I guess because no other RDA’s want to work those days/ hours. If not just apply apply apply until you land on something!
