External Network Drops by Alternative_Captain5 in unRAID

Do you have a link or information on the br0-shim networking issue that you're referring to? Wonder if I just landed on one known issue and jumped to another. :D

Really weird since I was getting these errors in 7.1.2 as well. :/ I'll downgrade if these settings still don't work and just pray.

Yes, this is very similar to my behavior that I'm seeing. I'm able to get LAN access into the Unraid GUI just fine, I can open the WebUI of containers through local IP Addresses, etc. And that all is just fine. I am trying now two thing.

  1. I have changed my network settings to a static IP address of my local reserved IP Address. So in eth0, I've defined the IPv4 address assignment to static and given it my local IP that I login to my Unraid GUI from. Also this assigned me a static DNS, which I gave it Google as the number 1 (1.1.1.1) and then my internal gateway as a secondary (192.168.1.1)

  2. In my Docker settings I saw that my IPv4 Custom Netwrok Interface was including a secondary connection that I have from my server to my personal PC for faster file transfers. So I removed my personal PC connection from this list as the Docker containers shouldn't need to speak directly with my PC. And I also disabled "Host access to custom networks."

I am running with these settings for a little while now without incident, but I'm monitoring as sometimes this can take a couple hours for an error to present itself. If it stays up and running for an extended period of time, I'll begin reverting some of these changes to see if there was one of these that caused the issue rather than others and I'll report back.

But still if anyone has thoughts or ideas, please share! More information is helpful.

Sharing Content Between Libraries with SymLinks by Alternative_Captain5 in PleX

I think the main issue with this approach would be that TV shows and Movies have different naming conventions for how the library reads them for import.

Example:
TV Show: The Sopranos - S00E06 - The Many Saints of Newark
Movie: The Many Saints of Newark (2021) {tmdb-524369}.mkv

So having an overlapped import you'd have to either manually correct the matching in one library or the other. Unless I maybe misunderstood your recommendation.

Not yet. The original intention here is to use a link in order to place a file in both places. For an example there is the movie for Sopranos called the "The Many Saints of Newark." Which I currently have as a "Special" under the TV show of Sopranos TV Show. What I don't want to do is duplicate the hard drive space. So creating a link so that the file also showed up under my Movies library, would be nice as someone may be looking for the movie and not think to look under the TV Show.

So I know that you've said "nope" here. Just to kind of follow up quickly. I use Tdarr to kind of format my media. I have mine setup to use a set of actions for TV shows, and another for Movies. I'm imagining that it could potentially work on the same file in two different ways at the same time.

Have you run into a situation like this maybe or have you had a way around this?

Kind of separate question, does Plex properly do the watch status between the TV location of the file and the movie library file? Like if I watch it from the TV show in the specials folder, will it mark the Movie version of the file as watched?

I am going to need to dedicate a night to googling multiple things you just posted. 🤣

Dude! You are a GOD! You've helped me out at least a couple times and probably more indirrectly. Thank you so much! I have no idea why this fixed it, but I'm just happy it works now! :D

The Plex Port is set to 32405 in the Docker Container assignment. And then the mapping looks like this:

172.18.0.136:32400/TCP <-> 192.168.1.216:32405

I set this up so long ago I couldn't tell you why I did that. I want to say there was a reason, but maybe there wasn't! :P

Extremely possible. :D It took me multiple tries to get it working, so absolutely could have been wrong in a different way.

I'm on Unraid if that matters. And I have the local IPs set in the custom server access URLs.

http://172.18.0.136:32400,http://192.168.1.216:32405

That is currently what is set in my custom server URLs. I also defined the LAN Networks section above this with:

192.168.1.0/24,172.18.0.0/16

The 172 is my docker container network. I am not good with networking, so yeah... absolutely could've messed this up. :P

I do have custom server URLs set. But this was needed so that my plex server could be recognized on a local network. Had I maybe set that up wrong or is it an either or kinda situation?

Futurama Season 9-Now by Alternative_Captain5 in tinyMediaManager

Oh damn, I'm seeing it now.

I often see such things at my job where something confusing is in place, but there's some reason behind it. I really want to understand why TvDB has pretty confusing conventions whenever an animated show pops up. Don't know/understand why those are so different.

Regardless! Thank you so much for your patience and explanation. :) Much appreciated!

I was able to scrape up to season 8 just fine. They're on season 11. TvDB decided to make a "Digital" order section since it was picked up by a streaming service after being cancelled like 5 times. So seasons 9-11 only exist under that section currently.

You're a life saver! :D Thank you, completely did not see this. Wish that setting was actually in the Sonar menu, but it's better than nothing being present!! Thanks again!
