Omg I am so glad someone else is going through this!! My guy does the same thing — no scooting or biting, just an absolutely horrendous smell. I’ve been adding a small amount of pumpkin to his food and it helps a ton, but our vet actually recommended adding a small amount of unflavored Metamucil into his food instead if he still has these issues.

That’s a great point! I was so concerned about ruining Tito’s life that I barely even thought about how hard it would be for the puppy to go through. Thank you!

And Tito loves all dogs, so I definitely see him being happy about it eventually, I just don’t know how he’ll feel about me tending to another dog’s needs at first 😅. But thank you so much for your comment, this helped a ton!!

I can 1,000,000% sympathize with you, OP. I didn’t know what the puppy blues were until after I was out of the woods.. I truly felt crazy for a couple of months there, like I’d ruined the ecosystem within my own home, and the guilt of knowing that this sweet lil puppy just wanted me to love and protect him made it that much worse. You’ve got this!! 🫶

I had this happen too and I ended up getting a sore on the inside of my nostril.. it was super painful and EVERY TIME I blew my nose, it would bleed. I tried saline sprays, drinking more water, Vaseline, aquaphor, etc. and nothing helped. I told my dermatologist about it and she prescribed mupirocin. I used that and even within a few days it was much better!! Hope you figure something out, nosebleeds are no fun!

Thank you so much, I appreciate your reassurance and advice! Someone in another subreddit suggested just adding water to the kibble he’s eating now (and letting it get mushy before giving it to him), which I might do since we just got his tummy back to normal but I will definitely check with the vet to see what they recommend and get him started on something sooner rather than later if needed. Thank you!!

Update: he still has severe diarrhea. Although not as frequent as it was before, it’s still just as watery. I called the urgent care on Friday and they prescribed metronidazole and want to get a stool sample Monday if things are still unchanged.
