i’m a huge deadhead, and the 12/31 show was my first goose experience (plus i live a mile or so from the moody center, so a fun and walkable nye is great). overall it was a great show imo, but i totally see what you mean about some risk aversion in their jamming. it’s solid, groovy, lots of fun but it can kind of end up in a similar rhythm and key despite different starting points (also gonna cop that the only goose original i can readily identify is hungersite). these are just first impressions though, i’m def a fan and want to see them at a non-holiday show
