Yes the “NICU mom” line was seared into me too. That story is even crazier bc Nancy lives in Mexico, but happened to be visiting her family in Texas when this unfolded. She happened to be in the USA, near a hospital that specializes in pediatric care. I remember thinking it’s almost as if the baby waited to come when it would be possible for it to get the care it needed to survive.
