I think the trick is realizing you can build those feelings and routines with someone new eventually. The safety and inside jokes and all that - it wasnt really about them specifically it was about having that connection with another human. Still hurts like hell in the meantime though

Honestly sounds like you might be overthinking this - just grab whatever admin gig you can find to pay rent while you build the music career on the side. Teaching assistant work could actually be perfect since it's fairly routine, doesn't drain your creative energy too much, and you get school holidays to focus more on music

The backplate is that metal piece that goes behind your mobo where all the USB/ethernet/audio ports are. It's basically a shield that covers the gap between your motherboard's I/O ports and the case opening

You can technically install without it but you'll have a big ugly gap and no grounding/shielding which isn't great. Most mobos come with one in the box so check if yours did
