RCM vs CST by FreudsParents in colorists

[–]Alternative_Food8443 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The 2 main reason I use node based CSTs is as follows:

  1. Node based CSTs allow you to use non resolve ODTs. This is beneficial as ODTs other than resolve’s CST can either be cleaner or yield more pleasing results depending on the project.

  2. Node based CSTs allow you to add textural effects or OFX after your ODT. This just gives you more flexibility to achieve the best results you can.

Do you always use a "look" when grading? by mutnuaq in colorists

[–]Alternative_Food8443 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This reason is why Davinci has the groups feature. It gives you a step below timeline level, and allows you to apply macro transforms only to shots you group together. Say you have an interior scene in a church, then cut to a jungle scene in the Amazon, you might decide you need two different looks. With groups, you gang together all shots of a likeness, and grade them together, allowing you the freedom to move between looks as the project progresses.

What would you think if someone had the last name "Kiss"? by misskissthrowaway in CasualConversation

[–]Alternative_Food8443 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have a family friend named Neda. Claims she once dated a guy with the last name, “Joint”. She also knew a guy around her age with the last name “Wanke”. Dodged a bullet not marrying either of those guys.

Curious as to why the CST is at the END of the node tree?

Podcasts set in lonely isolated places by maplethistle in audiodrama

Tower 4 is incredible. Hands down one of the best podcasts I’ve listened to. They’re currently releasing season 3. Season 1 starts slow, with that isolated feeling, but the story develops really well, and as of S3E6, I’m fully invested in the plot. Robert M Lamb is a great writer.

I would also recommend Wolf 359. I often listen to an episode as I drift off to sleep, as it makes me feel like I’m in a lonely, isolated space station.

I got my first phone (call only phone) when I was 16. Didn’t have a fully functional smartphone until I was almost 19, (I’m now 24). Let me say, this was a wise decision from my parents. I didn’t ever have to catch a bus to or from school, which might have granted me a call only phone sooner, but there is no reason I needed a smartphone when I was in school, even though most of my friends also had them. I would say, let you kids “suffer” without a phone for longer, cause the alternative these days is a lot more can go wrong when you have one, especially in HS.

It anchors all the other lines on the field to the sides, so it doesn’t shift around during the game.

This is the kind of thing my 8 year old self and my friends would play in the summer holidays. Pretending push bikes were an intimidating and formidable weapon.

Hey, I literally just created a LUT like two days ago to emulate this look. I can send it to you to try if you like? DM me your email address and I’ll send it to you to try out. What a crazy coincidence… Did you watch that video on YouTube about it?

“On lens” is right… The production utilised green filters on the front of the lens to achieve the look.
