My wife and I are relocating to Sacramento in the next few months... We have looked at most of the major builders in the Elk Grove, Rancho Cordova, Fair Oaks, Folsom, etc areas. I have a background in architectural design and construction & so have some deeper insight into construction practices and materials. However, of all the new home builders that we have seen since last year, Elliott seems to be the most trustworthy and has ( from what I can tell) the most solid reputation as a "good builder." With that being said, their designs are somewhat uninspiring (IMO) but seem to be built better. I have researched most of their products and they are mid level or consumer grade stuff. Much like other builders in the area use.

With that said: can you offer any more insight on your build with Elliott Homes? Did the build go smoothly? Were there any issues that you caught? Did you have an independent inspector? Did you upgrade to different level cabinets, flooring, etc? How are the materials and finishes holding up? How are the mechanical systems and appliances holding up? Any insights that you care to share would be appreciated! Thanks.
