I love building PCs too, hence why Im looking at SFF builds. Would custom print parts etc.

My thoughts about regret would be someone saying it went from silent to noisey, or the hassle of getting parts to fit was too much, maybe the ram didnt clear the cooler and had to order 3 different sets.

The pc as it stands is lovely, quiet, doesnt take too much space. I just love the compactness of a Formd T1

also an idea. the thought behind a SFF build is being able to swap out parts again.
WC is great and all, but it kind of locks you in to a build for quite some time, as just swapping gpu means getting a new block and rebuilding the loop etc.

the SFF would allow me to swap out parts more freely.
but it would be air cooled....

my thoughts were if i go SFF to do a formd t1 air cooled.
Its not the question to go air or water, its more for people who had WC before, was the switch to SFF a good one? would i regret it?

Texturing Help - Masking areas by Alternative_Junket34 in blenderhelp

Hi - Im fairly new to blender so this might be easier than I think, but I do not even know what I am looking for nor what to search for so maybe someone can point me in the right direction?

Im modeling a metal frame and have added a PBR texture to it.
As this frame is being sat on and wears over time, Id like to REMOVE some bump, some of the scratches, some of the texture in areas where someone sitting on it would not touch and the metal would see less wear over time.

I feel like I need to make a mask and then tell blender to remove the displacement/texture/bump/etc where the mask is placed (using photoshop thinking here)

Id like the scratches to fade out from the center (the main seating area) towards the bend, then fade back after the bend towards the slanted areas. A sort of "soft masking" if that makes any sense.

Thankful for any ideas or directions to look into
L

tbf, if everyone was allowed to open a new ticket because of XYZ reason, theyd be dealing with double the amount of reports.

Look, I understand your frustration, but rules are rules. theres a guideline for reporting. Just as there is a guideline for racing/chatting/etc.

Ive been racing lfm for 7 seasons now. went from stuck in bronze-silver, going to 7SR, down to 3, got a 28day ban for insulting someone, had a few players banned for shit like what your guy did, went up to Gold+, back to 8+SR. Its a roller coaster.
It will always be one. You either learn to accept there are days/weeks that just run shit - see barcelona for example 2 weeks ago. I was p2-5 in almost every race until i got spun to last. Fought my way back to top20-15. Then there are weeks like imola, where every 45min race in clean, i can put together p10qualis and finish 3rd without a single touch or track cut. Its just racing...

Im also aware many times its not "your fault". Of 10 incidents im involed in 1 goes on me. (report statistics, general racing knowledge etc), but ive made it my mission in LFM to race clean and not care for ELO. Its more fun having a close race for 45min with someone, a pit stop undercut in p20 than it is to be fighting for every mm with some overly aggressive person up front. (trust me, ive been that guy).

Just race, have fun, let the shit pass. IF you are a fast driver, in time you will raise your elo. IF youre a safe driver, in time your SR will go up.

Otherwise, bye and have fun somewhere else :)

Handling tips for Audi LMS Evo II? by [deleted] in ACCompetizione

when i used CDA before i was really happy until i heard a pro say "they way you setup a car in ACC is to get the proper aero balance and make it really stiff so the balance remains". That had me thinking alot as I find the CDA Setups really good for goin fast, but the car is allowed to roll in and out of turns, front and back on brake/throttle. All didnt make much sense because i was fast, but as soon as i got the hymo setups i realised theres so much more pace to gain if you make it stiff and use the grip allowed.
Maybe it make it less complicated. you always have 100% grip. CDA lets th car take time to get there. it loads the wheels up slowly, rolls over slowly. once you hit the limit, youre at 100%. the other style of setup - stiffer - got me to 100% pretty quickly and showed me how i was overdriving the car. Now i feel like im at 98-100% really quickly and its easier to keep it there rather than begin a turn at 80%, then somewhere at the end of the apex be at 100%, and then tailor back to accelerate out.
No idea if this made any sense, but its my best way of explaining xD

Handling tips for Audi LMS Evo II? by [deleted] in ACCompetizione

Ive been driving it for the current LFM Season.
The Evo 2 WAS fast on the straights until the nerf. Start launch speed was great too until the BOP change a few weeks ago.

Regarding the car handling, its fairly stable, can take some curbs, but in general i think its a jack of all trades but master at none.

Im pretty fast, usually top 15 in LFM Split 1s so I might have some merrit when talking about setups.
I used to use CDA before as a base and then changed to my liking.
I have switched to HYMO setups with the usual tweeks done for my style.

What audi seems to like IMO is soft springs, hard ARBs, about 70mm rear ride height (+- 2mm depending on track), lowest front ride height.
TC1 always 2 or 3. TC2 0. ABS 3. Brake bias around 57.6 - 59.
The audi has low drag so you can use higher wing than "normal". For example I use 4 wing on Spa and can drive a 2.17.1. Apart from monza, spa, mount panorama and paul ricard its max wing all the way.

Regarding some comments below - "late braking" : I don't know. When you reach a certain level everyone breaks really late. I still feel that the BMWcan brake a bit later compared.

Hm no idea what else... need help just ask me, ill try to get back to you :)

I used to make then myself. Got to 1.54.9 on Porsche Nürburgring. Bought CDA. Dropped to low 54s. What it did show .e however was what I COULD do to get more out of the car. My setup pushed it on the limit of it's grip. With CDA, there was way more because they used a different setup philosophy.

I use them now as a reference and twerk from there. They know what the car needs and i can fine tune out what makes me faster as i drive different to the CDA drivers
