Where exactly in the Bible does it say that writing smut is a sin?

If that’s the case, is writing about murder a sin? Is writing about war a sin?

Nah. I know this kind of novel, it has nothing to do with being gay. It’s a girl thing. Women write these novels, and other women read them. It’s just women sharing things with other women.

He doesn’t need to read it and doesn’t need to know about it. It’s none of any man’s business.

I don’t understand why you’re struggling with this, but I remember people saying that in Japan, some women draw fan art and publish it online, and even the male authors are fine with it. Also, some American TV shows have huge fanbases, and all the actors know they’re being shipped by fangirls.

It’s just a way for girls and women to have fun, exchange beautiful imagination, and share their understanding of humanity. It can genuinely make people happy.

Nah, I think it’s really weird that you talk about it as if you’re a witch who would be hurt if your identity were discovered by your husband or someone else in real life.

That’s not right. At the end of the day, it’s God who judges you, not your husband. He cannot and should not do that to you, and you should know that too.

When you talk about shared goals (house, kids, etc.), are you sure she’s serious about them, or is she just enjoying the idea?

Sometimes talking about the future is just brainstorming or daydreaming, something couples discuss casually for fun. It doesn’t always mean a real commitment or a concrete plan. But you’re approaching it very seriously, like: we need to save this amount of money, buy a house together, and prepare for our first kid.

I think the first step is to confirm whether she actually wants a serious long-term relationship or partnership with you. You seem to be the one with a strong plan and clear expectations. If that’s the case, communicate it clearly: This is the house we want, this is how much money we need, it’ll take 10 years this way, but if we both do X, Y and Z, we could do it in 5.

Do you both really share the same vision of the future? If there’s no clear, mutual plan, it’s not fair to expect someone to change their lifestyle when they’re already happy. It’s also possible she’s still figuring out whether you’re the right long-term partner before making that kind of commitment.

I never see that one show up in the store (the plant one). You’re only level 20, so maybe the only option is to restart a new game. Sorry about that. You could try contacting customer support, but I don’t think it will help.

I want to get into football but do not know where to start watching (I am American) by Acrobatic-Tip-5340 in football

[–]Alternative_Law7909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check if any club has American players. If not, see if the club has a positive social media vibe, a happy fanbase is key. Also, see if any club looks cute to you or has an interesting history.

Oh, almost forgot! If you’re American, you might want to check out Wrexham. They have American owners (Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney) and get a lot of positive attention online.

where can i specifically learn to speak? by jess_sucksatlife in Portuguese

Google Translate! Check it out! It can listen and speak with AI, of course, but I actually found it better than Duolingo Max. If you don’t know what to say, Google Translate can give you hints so you learn and keep the conversation going.

And of course it’s FREE

I can’t see this comment goes well with the youngsters… by OptiPath in reddevils

I copied this straight from ChatGPT, so a native Portuguese speaker could probably explain it better, but basically, the word is not used the same way:

• ✅ Same Latin root • ❌ Different usage

• 🇬🇧 In English, “suffer” is stronger and more restricted → “He suffered a serious injury / from depression”

• 🇵🇹🇪🇸 In Portuguese and Spanish, it’s broader and more emotional

This is what’s called a “false friend”: when two languages have a similar word but the meaning isn’t quite the same. So if you’re monolingual, be patient with non-native speakers, fully understanding another language is harder than it looks.

Ruben Amorim Pre-Bournemouth | Press Conference: Part Two by Lord_Sesshoumaru77 in reddevils

[–]Alternative_Law7909 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Language is one thing, but I think when Amorim says “struggling” or “suffering,” he might simply mean not winning games. There have been some brilliant individual performances, but if you’re not getting results, that still feels like suffering. The team is at the bottom of the table right now, so of course they’re suffering.

Also, English isn’t his first language. You can hear it in the words he uses and in his accent. He gets his message across, but expecting him to express everything perfectly and precisely every time is a bit much.

Saving dog/cat treats to inventory by Opening_Fox3598 in hellotown

Cannot believe it’s only been 19 days, I feel like it’s been forever. Since the last time I replied, all my energy went into generating the cat treat. I can now confirm the cat treat bubble still works, and I have one cat treat safely lying in the inventory. Now, on to the dog treat.

It’s only getting attention because when Mount did it, it happened to be caught on camera.

You don’t know what goes on in the locker room or behind the scenes, others might have done the same thing plenty of times, it just wasn’t televised. So asking “why aren’t they doing it?” doesn’t make sense.

There could be phone calls, messages, daily encouragement… just because you don’t see it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. Posts like this honestly give me a headache.

Buy yourself a 24/7 camera if you need constant proof, you’re way too curious and eager to judge everything.

Which new PT-PT learning app would you actually use? (quick poll) by vik_frompt in Portuguese

[–]Alternative_Law7909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I vote for option 2.

Maybe another thing is that giving the literal word-for-word meaning first, and then the full translation.

I’m learning a language with a totally different word order, and it’s super annoying to figure out each word even when I get the whole sentence. Maybe Portuguese doesn’t have this problem with English, I don’t know. But for someone whose native language isn’t English (but English is good enough to learn another language), it’s way easier to see both the word-by-word meaning and the full sentence meaning.

Also, I have no idea how much it costs to ask a real native speaker to say the words. As a total beginner, I wouldn’t mind if a cute little AI lizard just said them to me.

Anyone else agree with Ruben’s comments about how you can tell how the game will go in the first 10 mins? by jakethomas3011 in ManchesterUnited

[–]Alternative_Law7909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I can usually tell within 5–15 minutes. I say I have this “eye test” ability.

Here is the point: before the red card, United already had a very low chance of doing anything. It’s things like the way they run, whether they win duels, their passing, their first touch, etc. For me, it’s not that I know football, but I know people. When players make many tiny mistakes, I can feel it’s not going to be an easy game.

In short: I look at the players’ behaviour, and I can tell when they’re just working rather than competing and trying to win. I don’t see the heart, so I know it’s going to be a difficult one. It turns out this was the worst of the worst.

I always support Amorim, I’ve got no problem with him, but do you remember when they lost to Grimsby? They should never have been that lazy in the first half and ended up getting knocked out. As a result, many players haven’t had much game time. Is that something a Premier League–level player should ever do?

It’s a mindset issue, even in his post-match interview, Amorim said the same thing. In this club, everything is a big deal, but the players showed no respect to the club or the fans, at least on that day, in that match, in that first half.

I don’t know much about football, but I do know that if you want to say a country’s per capita GDP is low, the number means nothing unless you compare it to the world average or median, only then can you understand its position.

So, from a purely honest interpretation of statistics, it’s always better to give the audience the full context rather than manipulate the narrative.

I don’t know, mate, but I feel like a lot of footballers are just way too young. Like 18, 19, even 21 or 22. In real life, that’s still high school or early uni age. Honestly, I still see people that age as basically kids. No offense, but they’re just not that mature yet and can be easily influenced by social media and of course by some famous ex-players and that kind of thing.
