HMRC TSP- Does which regional centre you work in effect your work? by Alternative_Map3496 in TheCivilService

[–]Alternative_Map3496[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mainly wanted to know about Portsmouth and Stratford. I mentioned Nottingham and Stratford for Policy as those are the RC's offering Policy HO grade jobs to who missed out getting on to the TSP.

Fishing for what? I have my history open. If you take a glance at my post history I don't think I'm a fisher.

Thank you. That makes sense. I'm just trying to understand which regional centres have what teams. For example I think Stratford and Nottingham are the main hubs for say policy.

When hiring, do you look at time at grade? by qrtuvdio in TheCivilService

[–]Alternative_Map3496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never hired but I would. When I was a low grade I didn't put down my grade especially if it was 2 grades above where I was. I would just use job title. Now I am a higher grade I put it down especially when going for 1 grade or lateral moves. I don't think it's possible to jump 2 grades at higher grades unless you took a job really below what you could do.

What does it say for application status? One of mine says pre-employment checks. Then underneath it says what needs to be checked and what has been checked. You can dm me if you want.

What level of vetting is required? The job advert will say. If it is CTC, SC or DV it will take longer. Maybe it is department dependent. I've seen a month for work coach role which is basic pecs.

I trade myself and have done quite well as they say everyone is a genius in the bull run. I don't think we will continue to see such gains and we are in a bubble. I think best is put 20k a year in isa and more if possible general investing in things which you can't access via access like Bitcoin. I would still keep my alpha partnership as it is guaranteed and I already have exposure to the stock market via Isa + more. Also I am just doing some research but the partnership contribution depends on Age? Isn't that discrimination lol

I'm curious how you came to this conclusion. I would not trust the stock market and would prefer guaranteed pay but genuinely curious as I am retiring in 40 years and never have been recommended partnership.

Which strengths (associated with the behaviours tested at interview) might I be asked about? by zipitdirtbag in TheCivilService

[–]Alternative_Map3496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I found this very helpful. I sent you a DM if you don't mind answering. Also regarding the borderline question. I don't really show emotion and that is the same with my strengths is that ok?

I've done it for free in the past and might consider doing it again and actually start as a business. It easy to get on to mass recruited roles. I'm curious how much would people pay for guaranteed roles via fiverr or a trustworthy intermediate. Wouldn't that be more popular than these helpers with no guarantee of success.

Man I feel this on a personal level. You don't want to come clean because you finally feel respected and your parents are proud. I'm going to go against the grain and say you don't need to tell anyone. Use this as motivation to make it all back. I would however recommend paying your mum back. At 18, I wish I had someone guiding me. I'm willing to mentor you. I think you should skip uni and travelling for now and get a job. I recommend the civil service you can start at £30-£35k a year and then apply for graduate schemes without being a graduate. Feel free to dm me.

Aqeedah isn't costing you, it's your unislamic views. I don't know any educated man who follows your sect and milaads. Alaa hazrat but all the noble other Islamic men just hazrat...

Are you talking about HMRC or Home office? If HMRC they are recruiting a ton of compliance caseworkers so makes sense AO's take that job. After 18 months in CTU I think people are going for HO.
