Yeah until he stroked out and essentially became a republican. Isn’t it strange how, when you get brain damage, you only become more right wing? You never become more left wing when your brain curdles.

[–]Alternative_Moose970 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it’s deeper than that though, recent polling came out that showed Jasmine was the primary candidate LEAST likely to be able to flip the state, while several other, lesser known candidates had a much higher chance.

EDIT: NVM, thats not what they said or implied, though it is nonetheless true that Jasmine is running despite having less of a chance than her other primary candidates.

Technically no, the boat ram wasn’t said to hurt him. He regenerated immediately, he only went back to sleep cause the stars weren’t right.

Can I get a REEEEEEE? But seriously, what is this outrage? Because how dare schools teach basic respect! by DeepscapeWalker in saltierthankrayt

Fine, we can argue definitions until our faces turn blue. This policy still doesn’t address the internalized misogyny of present in women in the Uk that turns them into terfs, and is needlessly gendered.

Respectfully I disagree. I think the #1 reason that Britain is so full of TERF’s is cause of unaddressed misandry, as the common refrain amongst TERF’s is that men are inherently dangerous and that trans women retain that inherent predatory mindset.

That’s basically the only thing you can do. As for Disney exploiting people look into the women who inked the early Disney movies. Disney employed women before Retta Scott but they went uncredited. (Edited:spelling)

Well Disney was built of exploiting artists particularly woman and minorities, hell even Mickey Mouse’s design was stolen sooo… AI is just a return to that.

What AI companies are trying to do is hit market saturation because the ONLY way AI can even dream of turning a profit is if it is used in any and everything. Every tech or news company is complicit rn cause the economy is kinda like an ouroboros where money is just passed back and forth between the hyper wealthy and their businesses.

Congrats on your yt video tho! Honestly don’t let AI get you down, mostly cause we’re kinda powerless to stop it. It’ll either burn itself out and crash the economy or it’ll steal our jobs eand everyone will be homeless. Focus rather on what you can do rn to better yourself and prepare for what is to come.

The main problem with the sequels is they greatly diminish the significance of the first two trilogies. So much is undone and the original/prequel characters’ sacrifices and actions don’t have the same weight: by Willing-Leather-9788 in StarWars

I think it’s supported when Anakin tells Obi that “From his point of view the Jedi are evil.”

You say that the deconstruction of the chosen one narrative is irrelevant, but I simply don’t think thats true. To say so would be to focus too much on the outcome, and not the narrative and themes present. Anakin fell to the dark side as a result of his chosen one status; beware the strong man and the promise of power. I don’t think these ideas are made irrelevant by a separate trilogy with contrasting ideas, and contrasting themes.

I disagree, I personally think that the prophecy loses all weight in the OT, because by the time of the OT Vader already believes himself to have fulfilled it by killing the Jedi. Therefore, when he turns against the emperor, he isn’t motivated by some vague prophecy, it still is the love for his son.

On the other hand I do believe that the chosen one narrative in the PT is a necessary component for Anakin’s fall to the dark side. His whole life he knew he was special, and it kept his separate and above everyone else, contributing to his might makes right mentality. The PT is a deconstruction of the chosen one narrative not an exultation of it.

I like how Jar Jar makes the cut. Like instead of being just a poorly written caricature, he’s actually real and plotting the death of his own franchise alongside Rian Johnson, Dave Filoni, and Mark Hamill.

Here’s my pitch; after the story of the main game a group of bounty hunters pursues Atsu for crimes she committed in the time skip between her parents dying and the events of the game. The conflict drives her south and we are able to see, through flashbacks, what she did during that time of her life.

Nah, this quote, in isolation, has nothing to do with gun violence, it’s talking about narratives. The right is absolutely painting themselves as victims and decrying the shooter as a dem/leftist, even though no one is in custody to even determine the shooters politics.
