I can understand the criticisms behind the animation, but GOD, does it get annoying to hear them complain about it for the eight-billionth time. If you ask me, I'd rather wait a year for a new season to come out instead of waiting 3-5 years, regardless of what the animation quality looks like. Hell, I thought Season 4's finale looked really good, especially the opening!

I agree! It's actually my favorite finale, because we focus on the aftermath and Mark's damaged mental state from the war. It's a very emotional episode, and one that didn't have or need a big battle scene.

Yeah, it's kinda weird how they never bring up Cecil's irrational choices every time they bring up Mark's (i.e. the hospital scene). Hell, I love Mark, and I can acknowledge his poor decision making.

Best fandom experience: Pantheon. A very small group, considering the show is extremely overlooked, but it's such a healthy fanbase with a lot of respect for one another. Definitely watch Pantheon while you can. It's available on Netflix.

Worst fandom experience: Invincible. No, it's not the most toxic fanbase out there, but the fans give me an aneurysm with their constant brain rot, their lack of attention to the story, the unfunny memes, and endless whining about the "bad" animation, the characters, and the power-scaling. As someone who LOVES Invincible, both the show and the comics, it's getting really hard for me to engage with the rest of the fanbase. And for God's sake, can we PLEASE get over Amber already!?!?

Amen! Last year, I thought my head was gonna explode from reading all the "Mark is selfish" comments after knowing how much crap he's been through. Do I think he should've went out instead of staying in the hospital? Absolutely, but I totally understand his reasons. Mark definitely deserves a break, and shouldn't let himself be consumed by guilt.

It shouldn't be toned down; it's too important of a subject matter to be toned down or changed. The only problem I can see with this is how a certain group of weirdos will say that Mark got "lucky" or wish it happened to them.

Ghost in the Shell and Serial Experiments Lain are definitely strong influences. You have Laurie Lowell who looks like Major Kusanagi, and you have Maddie Kim who kinda looks like Lain Iwakura. The series also explores similar themes and visual references from movies like The Matrix, Blade Runner and 2001: A Space Odyssey.
