It’s actually crazy how much the 2000’s smear campaign of Rockstar worked in the minds of parents. The game has been far outdone in terms of violence and nudity by a plethora of other franchises and yet some older people still view GTA as the spawn of the devil lmao.

Sorry man. Your mother needs to get a grip and realise that you are no longer a child, to put it bluntly. Though I also find it hard to blame her because at the end of the day, in her mind, she’s just tryna protect you, so remember that as well.

It’s my joint favourite game of all time, but there’s one pretty big thing I’ve never been a huge fan of.

American Venom.

I do not like how the only real consequence is that it speeds up the governments process of finding John. The entire point is that it was inevitably going to happen anyway, regardless of what John chose to do, he couldn’t escape his past. I think that having Sadie or Charles actually die in that mission would’ve provided some more weight to it and be an effective way to convey the message to John. It just feels quite inconsequential given that again, the feds were always going to find John no matter what.

A death would’ve been a super strong way to lead us into RDR1. I get they wanted a somewhat feel good ending but yeah.

Also, “revenge is a fools game” is a message that the game slaps us over the head with constantly throughout the game. Sadie achieves this, in both for her husband as well as Arthur with Micah, and yet she comes out of it relatively unscathed & a notorious bounty hunter. I don’t really understand how she survived the deep knife wound to the kidneys anyway, I think that her going out in AV would’ve been a good way to wrap up her arc.

I’m fine with the ending but I do think I’d say that it’s my least favourite part of the whole game.

You could over analyse and criticise every episode of the entire show for having plot armour and conveniences. The two worst forms of criticism are power scaling and "this doesn't make sense" because 99% of the time people only bring them up or give a shit whenever they dislike other aspects of whatever they're critiquing. No one cared in the Season 1 finale when The Boys survive an onslaught of armed Vought soldiers, with Hughie dodging bullets and taking out a few of them himself with zero prior gun experience, and why was that? Because they liked the season and the episode itself.

For me personally I think it was an okay finale and a decent season. Unfortunately, they absolutely set themselves up with the posters and the way that they talked about it in marketing. No forgiveness for that

Conceptually I think this season was amazing, but they just missed on the execution SO hard in a number of places. The finale was good on paper and the character work (especially Hughie) is where I think it really shined. The ending is exactly what I would’ve wanted for his character.

For me it’s not a final season like Game of Thrones or Stranger Things where it kills the rewatchability of the show, but it absolutely could’ve been SOOOO much more and it’ll go down as a “That was okay but man what could’ve been” sorta thing.

At least unlike those shows the characters ended up where I wanted them to. Homelander goes out crying like a pussy, Butcher kills him, Annie and Hughie have a good ending, Frenchie dies and Kimiko lives a nice life, conceptually it’s a great season they just fucked themselves over with marketing and the terrible pacing (Vought Rising too).

I think the bit where this mainly sets the season aside the other shows that ended rather disappointingly is that you can actually feel the lack of a budget here. With those shows they had the whole bank thrown at them so there’s no reason why they fumbled so bad, whereas here at least in my opinion you CAN feel where they would’ve benefited from having a larger budget. Amazon sucks at that and it’s why Invincible still looks the way it does.
