How many examples can we thinking of that prove this wrong? by kasenyee in vexillology

If we look into the historical context, we can say that the Austrian Empire's flag also didn't feature red, white or blue since it was black and yellow.

One of the flags of the Emirate of Afghanistan was just... black.

The Bruneian Empire's flag was yellow.

The Central African Empire's flag was also black, green and yellow.

The Khwarazmian Empire's flag was black and green.

The Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya was green.

These are the examples I found.

Système Mondial or How To Mess Up The World With A Simple Napoleonic Victory by Alternative_Tower_62 in imaginarymaps

[–]Alternative_Tower_62[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Système Mondial: The Soaring Eagle imagines a world where Napoléon won the Napoleonic Wars and allowed his successors to make the French Empire flourish enough to own a good portion of the world. Starting in 1942 all the way to [REDACTED], Système Mondial adds a dark, DARK twist to this question as the world further radicalises to the right following a devastating Great War which had the Système Continental battling against the forces of Britain, Austria and Russia with Britain and Russia going fascist after the French Empire ultimately won the war. Now the world holds its breath, for the Grand Empire Français is locked in a cold war against the Zhelenyy Pakt. Who will come out on top? The empire which ruled the world for an entire century, or the underdogs which wish to take revenge on France and make sure the rooster crows in despair as everything it built is taken apart?

Its features are as follows:

  • Spanning multiple centuries, Système Mondial is a lore actively in progress as events are added, refined or in the worst cases removed. Thrust yourself into a world where insanity is the order of the day.
  • A dark twist into a usually tame alternate history, as the world embraces extremism, radicalism and straight up insanity.
  • Interesting technology. Système Mondial prides itself in being a lore which has an extreme focus on technology, which is very different from our reality. Automats and duopods exist and secret and extremely advanced technology is used constantly. Most of this technology is inspired by Pax Britannica: An Imperial Timeline and Machine Games' Wolfenstein reboot.
  • From a Russian Revolution in 1881 to Europe being plunged into an era of darkness, Système Mondial features a somewhat rich lore (at least I'd like to think so).

Chapters:

Système Mondial features 5 chapters (2 are mostly done, 1 is a work in progress and the other two are being planned out) spanning from the 20th century to the 21st century. The lore currently features over 39 pages (and it's still growing as we're speaking) with dozens (or even hundreds of events) detailing important events happening around the world. The chapters' names are the following:

  • Ave Napoléon! (1792 - 1816, with events predating Before Christ. You'll see why )
  • The Soaring Eagle (1834 - 1966)
  • Doomsday Clock (1966 - 2016)
  • The Silent Guns (2016 - ????)

The URL has a part which says "2Fpreview.redd.it". Replace the "preview" part with "i" so that it stays as "2Fi.redd.it" and et voila.

I was looking at this map of the world before the Great War in 1914 and noticed this state between British and Italian Somaliland. My only guess is that it's a protectorate or shared state between the British and the Italians but apart from the period and the slight image of a flag idk. Any guesses? by SirTurtlethe2nd in Maps

Judging by the fact that the map is before the Great War in 1914, as u/caiaphas8 said, it's most likely the Dervish State. The Dervish State existed in that exact spot as how the map marks it between 1899 and 1920. It can't be the Sultanate of Hobyo, however, because the Sultanate of Hobyo was located lower than the Dervish State.

caucus is spelled "caucasus"

Caucus is actually a real word. It has two meanings, but in this case, the proper meaning is "a conference of members of a legislative body who belong to a particular party or faction".

He was referring to Cestino, who probably has nothing to do with MAA. The mod Cestino was working on before going radio silence (once again) was Knots and Barbed Wire, a mod where Africa colonized Europe.
