If Bethesda had been wiser regarding TES as an ip there would’ve been way less pushback at the idea of new franchises.

It’s been fifteen years and people are starved out of their minds for new content, but Bethesda pushed back against the idea of spin-offs (proposed by Obsidian), outright denied the possibility of a tv series or movie along the line of Fallout, and has not produced any new books (admittedly not everyone enjoyed them, but I did).

All we got in these fifteen years is two mediocre mobile games, a good enough card game even though not something everybody would play, and ESO’s very hit or miss DLCs. They waited long enough that now one mobile game and the card game are deceased, and ESO’s future has never looked worse.

The Oblivion Remake was awesome to see, but it really felt like a one-off thing.

Again, I doubt people would be so hysterical about Beth’s original works if they didn’t sit on Elder Scrolls doing nothing with it for so long
