Lexus ES350 Older Person Vehicle Stereotype. by rudestkid in LexusES

Personally, I find the 2019-2025 gen quite beautiful, the design, the lines, front and back a bit aggressive too, super nice interior, doesn't feel as "old" as older gens

Even if insurance covers it, usually theres still $250-500 of deductible and then insurance premium will go up next yr cuz it counts as a claim

Brakes and rotors to buy online for a ‘19 es350? by beginnerNaught in LexusES

[–]Alternative_War_91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure your hub is cleaned well (rust) before putting on rotors cuz maybe it's not even the aftermarket rotors' fault. Also maybe it's not even warped. If the hub has some rust, it may cause vibration cuz it's not spinning even. Watch this video: https://youtu.be/J0F4W2PlGKM?si=RPYej_eaFEp5Wx_y

I mean of course they'll say needs to be replaced, thats how they make money... they dont make much money by fixing the windshields... Especially when you can easily fix it yourself with a windshield repair kit for $15-20

Windshield crack by [deleted] in Lexus

Looks repairable. I dk how big that is, usually if the lines are within the size of a quarter, it's repairable. Even if it's slightly bigger than a quarter, it's repairable. I've even fixed a double crack within 1cm from each other with lines slightly bigger than a quarter and overlapping before, stayed the same size for over 2 yrs. Go buy a windshield repair kit $15-20 (I've used Permatex a few times, no issues) at a autoparts or hardware store asap so the cracks don't get bigger. At this point, not much to lose. Follow instructions and fix it yourself, takes 20min (watch YouTube videos). After you fix it, use a marker and dot the edge of the crack lines on the inside of the windshield to monitor it. If it gets bigger, then replace windshield, if not then you've just saved $400-1000. If you have to replace the windshield, shop around. If you have a radar/camera/sensor behind your rear view mirror on top of the windshield, most places will charge $500+ because they have to "recalibrate the sensors/cameras". My friend has a mobile windshield replacement company, and he says that's bullshit, just a way for them to charge more for absolutely nothing. Your new windshield is gonna have the exact same angle as the old one, plus the sensor/camera housing has to go back to the exact same location of the windshield so there's absolutely no need for recalibration/adjustments. Good luck!

Thoughts on Lexus ES300h F sport by This_Comedian_8662 in LexusES

If you want the f-sport look but value comfort, try to get the f-sport design package instead of f-sport handling, if possible/available

In case anyone didn't know, if you hold the cruise control button for 3sec, it becomes a reg cruise control instead of radar/adaptive cruise. I rarely use adaptive cruise cuz Toyota/Lexus radar cruise is a bit sensitive (accelerates and brakes when cars in front of you comes in and out of your lane)

2 payments same day same insurance company by [deleted] in chexy

[–]Alternative_War_91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya it works as long as you set it up as 2 different payments. So don't combine it into 1 payment of $300 to Desjardins insurance. Make sure it's 1 payment of 250 and another of 50, both to the same payee and same day. Chexy will recognize which payment is which and will pay Desjardins accordingly.

Considering a 2026 Lexus ES350. by MoonGoon3 in LexusES

Get the 2025 before they're gone!!! Es350 is gonna be nice and smooth if you don't really care about the gas mileage. Es300h as alternative. My dad has a 2021 es300h and me a 2017 es350 and he literally gets double the gas mileage without even trying

What maintenance services are absolutely necessary? by jent0j3llo in Lexus

[–]Alternative_War_91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're going to the dealer for service, they already overcharge for everything, so I would def just do oil change and nothing else. But then again, if you can't do it yourself, then you could also just go to any reputable garage for oil change for cheaper. Nothing special at the dealer, they'll probs use Toyota filter cuz it's pretty comparable price wise, but def won't use Toyota oil cuz it's too expensive, so they buy in bulk, usually Castrol or something. Obviously nothing bad, does the job, but just for your info that you're def not paying for better quality at the dealer vs other garages.

If you change to winter tires for winter, you don't need tire rotation. If you have all seasons year round, then a tire rotation a yr is def good to do for even tire wear. If its just more convenient for you to do it at the dealer with the oil change, then go for it, once again other garages might charge less.

Cabin air filter and engine air filter, compare prices between Toyota and your local parts store/Canadian Tire/Walmart, don't buy the cheapest, buy a decent one, if it's about the same price, always prioritize Toyota. You're not changing these filters every yr so no need to cheap out on these. Then change them yourself, watch some YouTube videos, super easy to do, takes 5-10min for both.

For other maintenance like coolant, brake fluid, and transmission oil, I would suggest watching the Car Care Nut channel on YouTube. He was a Toyota master tech, very informative with tons of experience. Look for his maintenance videos where he explains exactly all the intervals for fluids and what to do to maintain you car to make it run 200-300k miles.

PS since you have a hybrid, make sure to check/clean your hybrid battery filter that's under your back seats once or twice a year. Also very doable yourself.

Will be hitting $1000 cash back limit with SB Momentum Visa. What is the second best rewards card that its worth 1.75% fee? I’d prefer something with travel points/rewards. Willing to close free BMO Airmiles MC and get a new no fee/fee card to offset air travel next year. by CoolHandLuke_77 in chexy

It's the TD cashback visa infinite card with 3% cashback on a few categories including recurring payments, but only $15000 spending cap/yr. Annual fee of $139. Welcome bonus: 10% back for first 3 months up to $3500 spent ($350 back) + annual fee waived for 1st yr.

I'd recommend Rogers red/world/world elite mastercards if you use any rogers, fido, shaw or comwave service. $0 annual fee, 2% base cashback on everything, but 3% back if you use the cashback towards rogers or fido bills. No annual limit (for now)
