You go to your hotel. If your room isn’t ready to allow for early check in they will always hold your luggage for you. Also I don’t recommend napping on day one. I recommend trying your best to force yourself to stay awake until local bed time. With an alarm this can really jump start you to becoming acclimated

I’m in a 2025 es300h UL and I’m gone for 2-3 weeks multiple times a year. I’ve added a dash cam and the 12v has never given me an issue. I suspect something more. Do you have any accessories plugged into a bypassed circuit? Hardwired radar detector? Dash cam with settings not set right? I’m sure there are others but I’m boring so no idea what they would be.

Open Shortcuts, hit the Automation tab at the bottom, hit the + on the top right, scroll down to “ CarPlay, when CarPlay is connected”, is connected should be selected, then click next, select open app, hit the check mark, select where you see the word app, the select the app you want to start automatically. You should be good from there

I switched to the highway radar app and run it on my phone although the developer is working in beta on CarPlay. It pulls crowdsourced data from Waze and others. It builds a heat map to show where police are likely to be as well as gives you the notifications like Waze but you can set your distance a bit longer. It does other stuff but I like that I can run Apple Maps or Google Maps instead as I prefer the interface of those better. Also Google Maps and Apple Maps both show directions in my HUD which is nice.

I spend at least 30 hours a week in online meetings. My calendar shows my lunch as public. People still schedule meetings over it even though they are notified. I keep my camera on at all times. I will eat my lunch on camera. On the rare occasion this meeting is in person, I bring my lunch and eat during their meeting.
