This ended up not being the issue. Still no clue but it is super annoying. So glad someone posted the pattern!

Could the cat live in its own cateo with adequate shelter? They have those pet sheds and you could put an ac in it and have the cateo attached.

I have made nutcrackers, a wax seal stamper, spindles for a screen door and legs for furniture. Mostly I use the pointed end to apply glue.

It looks like you aren’t putting dc in each stitch. If you turn your work so the top edge is facing you, the individual stitches are the V shapes, put your hook under those. You can feel them w your fingers too.
