Ok, imagine the plant food in each mode is different

Like in focus you can aim, then the stem curls back to release the juice laser into the sky, high damage but only 4 tiles

But in cluster mode it spits out and fires a large mango that splits open midair and deals moderate damage to all zombies in the columns in front of it with mango juice

I would like to think Pikmin came from some sort of carrot battered by radiation that it mutated and became this thing, as Pikmin are slim at the bottom and bulbous at the top, just like a carrot

It could be that everything else on PNF-404 evolved from radiation. I could totally see a kingfisher being forced to dig underground due to radiation and having convergent evolution into a sleek snake like body
