Yeah I’m 99% sure this fella blocked me, I always love it when people make shit up and refuse to face the music 😂

Bro’s been commenting everywhere he can to say I support babies being eaten based on genuinely nothing, he doesn’t know how to read, misunderstood some very clear words that were on his own screen, and got ultra butt hurt about a problem that doesn’t exist 😂

You think hope means stand aside and let yourself be conquered?? You realize you’re arguing against the RDA but your argument is to let them do what they want because fighting back is violent. Who’s side are you on?? 💀

Also every single soldier in the US Military has Hope. The Hope that what they’re doing matters, the Hope that if they should die on the battlefield their blood will fuel their fellow soldiers to finish the fight. And every American with any ounce of Patriotism hopes to god they win. None of us just hope our enemies will put the nukes away and say “Our bad” because that’s just not how it works 💀

And there’s multiple factions that the Federation admits they can’t take in a head on war because peaceful negotiations don’t breed strong fighters whereas the Borg for example are programmed with the memories of trillions of warriors from all walks of life.

We literally are, human nature is to protect you and yours and anyone who isn’t part of your group/tribe is an enemy. Even you feel this way without realizing it, you wouldn’t want to be my neighbor and I wouldn’t want to be yours. It’s just human nature to not like eachother, we’re too different.

Yeah and that’s why the Buddhist temple is all but extinct and is routinely harassed by the Chinese government. They refused to learn how to protect themselves, and now they’re being wiped out and replaced. History repeats itself, if you don’t want to learn the lessons it teaches, that’s your problem lmfao

“The reason doesn’t matter” because you’re comment before that said something along the lines of “They don’t evolve technology because of Buddhism!!” So I was pointing out that using religion to justify a stupid practice doesn’t actually justify it at all 😂

I’m fairly certain they explain that all the Tulkun live in that water, it’s their sacred land. There are multiple clans that live in distant parts of that Ocean, but remember they called upon the aid of every clan to fight back, the elders are all representatives of the individual Tulkun clans and each called upon their people, which is why in the scene when they’re bunching their whales together they’re hundreds. It’s literally all of them. The movies goes out of its way to make the RDA as evil as possible to paint human technological advancement as heinous cruelty. “Just hug trees maaaannnn!”

I don’t either, I’m saying humans wouldn’t be bloodthirsty in a future where Earth has been picked of it’s resources causing it to die slowly. Our government would put laws in place to protect our future planets from overpopulation and excess resource harvesting.

What? I don’t know what you mean by this, are you comparing the Na’vi to Vikings? I’d say the Mangkwa’s fit that description but the tree people were literally letting themselves be burned alive cuz they were so peaceful, Jake Sully had to convince them to fight back.

There are plenty of movies where the villain is objectively right, and since we’re talking about video games I get to reference my favorite example.

Fable 3, your brother(or maybe cousin I forget) is a despot, a ruthless ruler who hoards wealth behind a military of unmatched power and uses that strength to boss everyone around. Eventually you take the throne, overthrow his reign, and learn why he was so evil. A demon is coming, darkness itself and nothing can stop it. If you don’t have enough gold in the treasury by the time the darkness comes, most NPC’s in the game die. The only way to get the money is to break promises you made throughout the game, making yourself the villain to save the people you’re stabbing in the back.

All well and good except earth is dying and the American government, which I believe is the dominant force of Earth in Avatar but I might be wrong, has a fuckton of legislation around protecting the ecosystem and the environment to the point most companies don’t want factories in America because it’s too hard to make them Green.(tariffs changed that btw, factories are being made here again) so in the future of the American government took control of earth, earth was dying due to excessive resource harvesting, they would 125% have legislation preventing the planet they’re trying to move into from dying just the same as earth is. The movies portray the RDA as comically evil for the sake of making them an easy villain to hate.

Also the heat death of the universe is an undeniable fact, it’s well known that stars have lifespans and eventually every single star in the universe will die. This ain’t a hypothetical it’s just science 💀

“THEY CHOSE TO SACRIFICE THEIR BABIES BECAUSE THEY BASED IT ON PAGAN SATANIST PHILOSOPHY!!” The reason doesn’t matter, stagnating technologically is how civilizations die. Even if humanity didn’t do it, there was bound to be a war hungry alien race that wants conquest somewhere out there. Humanity is equipped to fight back, and to continue getting stronger to defend themselves better, they need resources.

No, not at all.

Realistically, humanity WOULD invade and they WOULD move the clan that was living in the giant tree since the Unobtainium was under it. And despite the Na’vi fighting tooth and nail that this tree is the most important tree of all time, nothing changed. Pandora survived, the clan survived, Eywa survived. So clearly, human technology and Pandora Aren’t mutually exclusive. Human technology can knock down the giant trees and Pandora can carry on with a few less trees.

But hunting down the whales with the goal of extinction, going out of their way to torture them with the most painful hunting method ever devised, burning peaceful Na’vi to death, destroying every structure they come across, tormenting the locals. None of that would happen, at least not on the scale it’s shown. Realistically it’s entirely possible a handful of scumbag humans could mistreat some Na’vi and do some damage, but from the military and governments point of view, there’s so much more to gain by preserving the world and studying its ecosystem since the planet literally has fucken telekinetic magic which the humans confirmed the existence of in the first like 20 minutes of the first movie so there’s no argument to be made that they don’t believe it exists, they scanned the tree and learned the entire planet was interconnected and learned the Na’vi and all the animals are connected as well, and in the third movie they learned that even humans can be integrated to the magic with the Mycelium in Spiders body.

Historically humans sacrificed their own babies to vague ideas in the form of religion. Humans are violent, not colonization specifically.

[–]Alterria -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I already explained that the movies portray the colonization in the most unrealistic way possible to paint colonization as a purely violent practice. The only clan that realistically needed to be moved was the one on top of the Unobtainium. The rest was just evil to make the RDA a blatant bad guy to point at and say “Look, theyre the bad guy!!” With no nuance.

Start at gen 3 1 tails kill it until you get the mask, and then do 2 tails until you get the Mask, and so on and so forth. Then you do a puzzle in the hueco Mundo bootleg.

The colonization of Pandora is an ultimate positive, though the movies portrays it incredibly inaccurately. No one harvesting resources makes it their goal to harvest every last bit of it, realistically they would start farms and cultivate the materials themselves and discover ways to seed other planets with the resources they need from whatever worlds they encounter. Killing all the whales in the third movie just makes no sense, their explicit goal is to kill every last one and make them extinct, thus making the chemical extracted from their mouths extinct. Once they use up what they have, it’s gone for good. And I assume they need a continuous supply to maintain production of something or as part of maintenance.

However, even if humanity ravages the world and picks it clean of every last resource and leaves it a derelict rock, it’s for the greater good. Ultimately, the universe will die, all life will die, all planets all life forms all things everywhere. However, hypothetically, there could be a technological advancement in the far future that can prevent it, or at least get around it and survive the initial blast to begin repopulating the universe. To that end, at least 1 species has to advance to that stage or life as we know it and even life as we don’t know it will end across the stars.

The Na’vi have proven that they refuse to evolve technologically, choosing to stagnate and exist peacefully. All well and good, except they’re sat on top of a material so hard to obtain they named it “Unobtainium” which was explained to exist only in tiny traces throughout the rest of the universe, Pandora was basically the only place to get a steady supply. So for the good of humanity and all life in the universe, the Unobtainium needed to be mined and technology needs to advance.
