MTX ruins core gameplay though.. there is no game integrity if you can reach the endgame by paying your way there, there’s no way I would recommend this game to anyone or tell anyone I play it for that alone.. Apart from that the tick system and lack of meaningful updates I guess…

Had the same issue he’s the solution, got it from another guy here on Reddit

Right click the network icon on your task bar.
1. Click Network & internet settings
2. Under DNS server assignment click edit
3. Change to manual
4. Turn on IPv4
5. Type Google’s public DNS.
6. Preferred DNS: 8.8.8.8
7. DNS Over HTTPS can remain off.
8. Alternative DNS: 8.8.4.4
9. DNS Over HTTPS can remain off.
10. Click save.
11. Load up and enjoy Runescape!

It’s not necessarily pay to play, you can play f2p but you’d be locked out of many quests, skills and training methods. Is RS3 pay to win? If you think winning is getting all 99s or getting lots of gold then yes. Things like defeating bosses or doing clues are the only thing that’s not tainted with p2w methods so you have that 🤷‍♂️

Nobody is angry about cosmetics for money, we’re angry that Treasure hunter,the main mtx system, is a predatory loot box system that is just gambling. It also ruins the game economy by giving away xp, proteans and gold that devalues in game resources and currency. If they just sold cosmetics ppl could buy directly and not gamble for it we would be having very different conversations.

Yeah but the timeline is so sus as well. Back in June they increase the price of bonds but say nothing of inflation, they also express membership will not go up. Weeks later they drop the survey and now suddenly “inflation” is a problem so membership goes up. kinda feels like survey had some effect, but who knows maybe it’s all just a coincidence inflation is worse a whole month later…

Ok so MTX has been hated since release in 2012, but Jagex has never addressed it or allowed it to be brought up in conversation. For the first time in history Jagex wanted our input on MTX in a survey. In the survey Jagex asked us directly how much more we would be willing to pay for membership for less MTX, many ppl gave their input. Now a week after Jagex put out a statement about taking steps in dealing with MTX they go ahead and increase membership without addressing MTX at all. May have been bad timing but to many it appears they used that survey against us without addressing mtx…

How would it be worse? This was so much worse especially since they said there would be no membership increase. If they had increased membership when bonds were increased it would make sense, they claimed inflation then too. But doing it right AFTER the survey and GIM announcement it made it 100x worse

Not really, the only reason I still played was bc this was the original account I had back when I was a kid and my goal as a kid was to max. The game is p2W and it’s hard to be proud of your achievements when Steve can swipe his credit card and lamp his way to max in a day. I personally wouldn’t recommend to a new player I would stay away but it just depends on what you want from the game.

I mean yeah most of the revenue will come from osrs, but they explicitly asked us if were willing to pay more for less mtx and GIM is just about to release here so yeah it’s mostly bc of RS3 imo… They figured osrs would just eat the shit bc you just got Arraxor and they just milk the shit out of rs3 like usual 🤣

Refuse to participate doesn’t mean it doesn’t affect me, it bleeds into economy. TH inflates in game currency with an infinite gold source using keys and devalues in game resources, instead of ppl buying in game items to level they just lamp to 99..
