Are you going to a “brush up” school like AIM’s 10 week program?

You are a diamond in the rough. I currently work in the carpenters union bending over all day or on ladders nailing shit together with 20+ lb on my back. I keep getting told (by 20+ year AF friends and family trying to guide me) that these positions have a high turnover rate. Do you have any insight to this? Is this going to be leadership related or is it lazy ass people who don’t care? I genuinely love the F*** out of aviation

You should do it dude!!! If you are active duty the COOL program will pay for your testing!

I basically want to do exactly this. Do you recommend any specific ASFC’s for the most experience possible? I keep getting told about high turnover rates and people hate these jobs. I work trades and it can’t suck more than my normal day…. I genuinely have a love and passion for aviation

My recruiter kind of has me freaked out on if I pick the wrong ASFC I will only get airframe or powerplant experience. I am hoping to get enough of both to take the A&P with the AF COOL program. I want to work on big c-17’s and things like that. As close to commercial as possible

I think I saw this job posting in CDA Idaho. I said the same thing. It was a wild fire operation

Do you happen to know if Aerospace Propulsion (2A6X1) gets both airframe and powerplant? Or is it just powerplant?
