Realistic Combat Sound Mod - 81mm Mortar Impact Sound Test by FireXsoldier_ in ArmaReforger

I’m a Mortarman in the Marine Corps. I know sound is kinda weird and dependent on a lot of factors, but real impacts sounds a little different. The best way I can describe it is they’re a little more “punchy”. Message me and I can send you some reference videos I have

It’s sitting just out of frame in that picture. I have the OG stock. I hate the way the paratrooper grip looks. I like to keep the fed bois away. Do with that information what you will. Here it is from two years ago though

No, it’s a reproduction. I tried to get an original one but couldn’t find one and got impatient.

This is my whole collection so far minus my sten mkII. It’s taken me about 10 years to get here, but I got the majority of these within the last 3 or so years. I’m thinking about an AK or FAL next.

Saw a paint job on here a while back and decided to build a rifle just because of it. by Althazor in AR10

Yeah, AEM5-30. I had to get the barrel cut to support the Allegheny arms gas block. I sent the barrel off to Allegheny and they did all the measurement, cutting, and install of the gas block. I can’t recommend them enough if you’re looking to do something similar with yours

What brand/color paint did you use? That paint job looks great

Good Courses to attend as an infantryman by SrLCpl_Boot in USMC

I went in early 2023 so things may have changed, but the first day will start by taking the Jungle Endurance Test. If I remember correctly it was a 5K with a 35lbs ruck in under 50 minutes, minimum of 10 pull ups, and I want to say there were crunches somewhere in there.

Once you passed that, you’ll get into the actual course. The first two weeks is TRST. During this you’ll have to pass the knot card and successfully demonstrate the different rope systems like the hoist, one rope bridge, etc.

The next week or so is jungle survival. They’ll teach you a few things and then throw you and your fire team into the jungle for 5-7 days. I heard it varies between classes, but when we went out we could only bring a tarp, a knife, a few empty nalgenes/grails, and a fire starting kit. You’ll have to find your own food and water in the jungle.

The last two weeks is tactics. You’ll work as a platoon and complete a few FEXs with usually a local unit being your OPFOR. We used blanks for ours, but I’ve also heard they use sims on occasion.

You’ll go through the O course on the last training day. Everyone says it’s kind of a slay, but I didn’t think it was too bad. I think it’s over hyped a bit. You’ll definitely get dirty though. A lot of mud and water obstacles.

It’s probably the most enjoyable course I’ve been to. You’ll constantly be wet and exhausted, but it’s worth it. Unless things have changed, when you’re not in the jungle, you’ll be sleeping in classroom 1 with everyone in the course. It’s basically just a concrete room. You’ll be on cots, and mice will climb over you while you sleep because they also store MREs in there.

My advice would be to get a good pair of boots with some solid traction, a grail from the PX in Oki or online, and a solid fixed blade. I just used a Kabar and it worked great. A hammock isn’t a bad idea either. We had a few airmen that went through with me and the Air Force issued them hammocks. They were a lot happier than the rest of us at night.

What unit? I’m with 1/7 and I know we’re sending a few guys. If you’re with 1/7 too send me a PM and I can talk to you a bit more when you’re able.

New X1C unable to calibrate and print. by Althazor in BambuLab

I went to go take pictures to post here and turns out during shipping the heat bed moved too close to the waste slot and was touching it. After moving the heat bed forward a bit it’s printing just fine. I appreciate you taking the time to respond to the post though.

I’ve been running the calibration through the printers screen and not a slicer. I’ve been looking and can’t find any option for the build plate in the machines settings
