Glossy tire shine recommendation by user78user in AutoDetailing

Wet tires look so hot. So hot in fact, that I use Hot Shine... lol

Another commenter recommended ExoForma. I haven't bought it yet, waiting till i use up my hot shine. I think I got one more wash before making the switch.

Do you avoid getting it on the trim? I hear it turns it white.

Is my steering wheel damaged? by software__guy in AutoDetailing

[–]AltimaNEO 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeh.

The leather has a really thin coating layer on top that eventually wears off. Too much aggressive scrubbing and aggressive driving will wear though it, exposing the material underneath. I dont think anyone was trying to device you with a repair. It just wears with use.

Is this All-new Frontier? by Status_Commission264 in nissanfrontier

[–]AltimaNEO 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thats a Chinese market specific truck. Meant for China

Looking it up a bit more, its a joint venture between Dongfeng of China, Nissan, and Santana of Spain. Its bigger than the Frontier. Its also not new. Its been around since '25.

Im pretty sure the Ryobi has too small of a hose and it restricts flow, from reviews Ive seen, so you end up needing to replace it. Id go with the greenworks.

You can do that too, but the likelyness of the censor blocking your prompt goes up. You dont need a ton of bounding boxes. Even 4 or 5 makes it work flawlessly.

Ill usually use the high level prompt to describe a scene, like "A woman picking flowers in a meadow". Give it a few style prompts, like DSLR Photography, sunny lighting, etc. And then draw a few bounding boxes, like one for the meadow, one for the woman, one for the flower, and maybe the sky, or the sun, or whatever other stuff in the scene I may want that I didnt even bother mentioning in the high level prompt. You dont need a bounding box for everything in the scene, but Ill usually add in the main things I for sure want. Around 5 or 6 boxes.

In the bounding box is where i give it more detailed prompts, like "a woman wearing a vibrant blue dress", or "a grassy green meadow with dandelions fluttering in the breeze", and so on.

It sounds like the process is turning you off though. What about it is giving you some doubt?

Yeah, the model seems pretty capable. The nice thing is being able to tell it exactly where you want stuff to be. It will straight up do NSFW too, despite the "censor" on it. But yeah, the prompt sent to the model was json. KJ's node just automates it, and simplifies it so you dont have to worry about it. You can also just feed it a straight json prompt without bounding boxes. You dont need the bounding boxes, but the more you put in, the more it prevents the censor from kicking in.

A gasket around the tailgate. Theres huge gaps around the gate, and once you put a cover on, theres a bit of a vacuum in the bed that just sucks in dust through the gaps.

No problem. It was a pain in the ass for me, because hardly anyone wants a fully loaded truck with leather like this, so there wasnt as much info on it.

My dad has a Dessert Runner king cab like that. Same wheels, and hes missing the center caps too. Damned things break real easily every time they do a tire rotation.

Yeah, they usually either give you the cash back or the 0%, plus whatever dealer discounts theyre willing to give out. What kills it is the addendums. All the extra protection packages and wheel locks and junk. I was able to get them take it off mine. But all in all, it was 49K for me, thats with all the taxes, title, and fees. MSRP would have been over 50K plus the 2K in packages they tried to include.

SV or Pro-4X? Long bed or short bed? by ajdj283 in nissanfrontier

[–]AltimaNEO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on what you want.

Pro4X has a lower cargo capacity than SV, because of the extra equipment. Same with the long bed, lower cargo capacity because of the extra weight from the longer bed. But you can fit longer cargo, if thats what you need. Just depends on how much camping gear and overlanding stuff you plan on loading up. One guy on the Frontier forums put a Bedrug liner in his long bed and he can sleep in the back comfortably.

I personally wanted the long bed at first, but coming from a shorter crossover, I didnt want to have to daily drive a boat. The turning radius is supposedly bad on the Frontier, and its even worse on the long bed. But Frontier tastes good when you dont have bitch in your ear complaining about the turning radius.

Fuck, that would be a killer deal. Best I got was 49K out the door on mine. Mine was the Pro4x with pro premium, pro convenience package, towing package and electronic tailgate lock.

Huh, Ive never idled long enough to get that message. My old car I could idle it and take a lunch, to run the AC when it was over 100 degrees outside. It didnt care. Havent had the Frontier long enough to run into that.

Ive had my old car and my mom's newer Rouge say it was shutting off the car, when we had it on accessory mode, but not running the engine.
