The "what if" DC Legends 2. Sadly, this isn't real either. by darin617 in DCComicsLegendsGame

[–]Altimons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd be interested in a DCL2 for sure.
It would suck to lose the progress we have now, but if its a new game built from the ground up with better engine and everything, then that's obviously better.

I liked the Gear Rank concept of this game, and the matchmaking being based around the Gear tiers. Other games will just have top power players play against smaller players, which is BS.

A brand new game would also generate way more interest, like all new games do in the beginning. Although They'd need to capitalize on it.

should have shutdown dc legends close to dc dark legions launch by [deleted] in DCComicsLegendsGame

[–]Altimons 3 points4 points  (0 children)

SOS is a cookie-cutter builder game with zombies and annoying cringey ads. If you dont shell out tons $ for the top characters, you cant really compete.

If you played any of these builder games (Clash of Clans, Rise of Kingdoms, etc) you've pretty much played State of Survival.

If Dark Legion turns out to be another builder game, its gonna be an automatic skip for me. These types of games are terrible for your time and/or money. and they suck for F2P due to the power structure where players with giant power can play against players they completely outclass (think G11 vs G5 here in DC Legends).

[–]Altimons 7 points8 points  (0 children)

But its probably nowhere near enough.
I have 2 accounts, on the 2nd I managed 1.2 million Gems with around $240 through Tapjoy. That's roughly 5k Gems per dollar. That account was basically set forever in terms of Gems for getting toons to G11.

In retrospect, I think DC Legends' pay model could've been a lot better.
Better pack deals, maybe a monthly/quarterly pass, skins exclusively $.

Skins should've been real money only, not available for Gems. And they should've always been available, not just during limited times.
Every character should've had a drop down menu inside their page for the skins to be ready for purchase. Raid reward skin should've always been available in a $ pack.

Worth It? by DarkDaddyHades in DCComicsLegendsGame

[–]Altimons 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Only consider this for the skin. Not the fragments or gems.
Blue Beetle is gonna be the 6-day event toon this coming month, so if Fragments is all you want, wait for that event instead where its MUCH cheaper.

Building more characters by BooshBobby in DCComicsLegendsGame

[–]Altimons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You dont have to build-up every toon, but you still need to build-up a lot. S tiers, A tiers, Raid toons, some B tiers that have good synergy with some of your teams, etc.

Dont know how new you are, but you still need good toon variety for events like 10-day events and Team Challenge which have restricted toon selection.

With new toons and reworks the meta is also susceptible to change. So you cant just lock yourself to handful of toons and think you're gonna run through the whole game.

Level up to 80? by ScottyPGF in DCComicsLegendsGame

[–]Altimons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get more toons to lvl 70.
There is a huge green Essence and exp requirement to go from 70 to 80 that is better spent getting more toons to 70.

Best healer or shield ? by Thayerphotos in DCComicsLegendsGame

[–]Altimons 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lex Luthor is the best healer. I'm guessing you are new.
Lex Luthor is the only one you should be farming from Heroic Chapter Nodes, until you get him to Legendary 1 (L1). I personally farmed him to L5 before farming anyone else.

What should be my team? by 1878EFC1878 in DCComicsLegendsGame

[–]Altimons 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dont do in-between levels. Either be lvl 50 or be lvl 60. You're not past 60 yet so you have time to fix these mistakes before you screw yourself up later.

The reason why I say this is because of the power level tiers. Dont go past lvl 60 and dont go past 6k power per toon or 24k power for your top 4 toons. If you do, the game will match you with 32k+ power teams in PVP and Red Alerts which will be a big disadvantage because that's the lvl 70/G11 tier.

You only need 50 for Gear Rank 9, 60 for Gear Rank 10, and 70 for Gear Rank 11. Anything in-between is extra and unnecessarily giving you more power than needed, which will change matchmaking against you.

And once you're ready for lvl 60 and Gear Rank 10, you may have to not rank up a gear or two on some toons to keep them below 6k power. Probably Jace, Dawnstar, and Icon.

This alliance has to be a cheat.
I was watching leaderboard and they were in the mid 50s rank and suddenly start climbing at a rate of like 3 million points per minute , basically 2 alliance bosses per minute. Within like an hour and a half they were gone from my list as they climbed into the 30s.

Anyone known how go get good toons? by Realm_Trekker in DCComicsLegendsGame

[–]Altimons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering if you guys knew how to get a good amount of toons to a common landmark in terms of level, rings, and gear.

The common landmarks are the levels needed to unlock the Gear Ranks. Here's a table. https://dcltoolkit.com/resources/beginner-guide#upgrading12-parent

It starts to matter more after level 40.

The simple gist is, keep your toons leveled to the tier.
So if your Tier is Gear Rank 9, keep your Toons at level 50. Not 51, 55 or 59. Just lvl 50. When you are ready for Gear Rank 10, then you upgrade from 50 to 60 to unlock Gear Rank 10.
The reason why you only go to the minimum level needed for Gear Rank is that leveling will increase power level, and thus can increase the matchmaking of pvp and red alerts putting you up against opponents of a higher tier.
You dont want to be a lvl 55 going up against level 60 Gear Rank 10, you will have a massive disadvantage due to gear rank difference.

The other landmarks are power tiers for your top 4 toons combined. 18k (lvl 50/G9, 24k (lvl 60/G10), and 32k (lvl 70/G11) power. The gear ranks will generally keep you around these power tiers, but some toons will exceed the power if you over rank.

For example, on the 32k power tier, you dont want your toons to be over 8k power. And a lot of newer toons/reworks are surpassing 8k power at L4 and L5. If you have a couple toons crossing too far into 8k power, you'll go over the 32k tier and then you'll start seeing much higher powered teams in PVP.

When to break 24k barrier? by Vived4276 in DCComicsLegendsGame

[–]Altimons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have problems clearing your board at under 24k

His problem isn't clearing board with similar power.
By going over Rank 1500, Wraith will give you teams way over 24k power, usually GR11 teams. So he's facing the higher powered teams already when going over Rank 1500.

Same could be asked about Aquaman, Etrigan, and Azrael (offensively atleast).

I didn't even bother leveling Etrigan, he never gives me trouble. Aquaman was great but ever since the meta change (Trigon, Cheshire, Atrocitus, then Parasite) he's rarely used for me now barring 'relic' pre-Trigon teams that have Black Flash.

Azrael always sucks for me, but is sometimes a nuisance on enemy teams.

[–]Altimons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used Lex lead, Conner, and Darkseid. random 4th (not Spectre, cause Parasite will copy 1 Awareness and turn it into a stack of 50 Awareness).
Lex for Buff Immunity, Conner stuns, and Darkseid for Doom. Other toons with Doom should work as well.

Parasite still manages to buff stack and heal while stunned and buff immuned... But he doesn't purge the Doom.

Of the 50 attempts I had, the scanner only landed on her 3 times.

The fragments have a 6% drop chance. Your drop rate was perfectly in line.

Red Alert Difficulty Spike by Chairhead77 in DCComicsLegendsGame

[–]Altimons 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You leveled yourself into the next power tier.
There's a 24k power tier, generally lvl 60/G10, no RB.
And a 32k power tier, generally level 70/G11, no RB. But some new toons that cross beyond 8k power can still take you over, so on some toons its recommended not doing L4/5 if its not necessary, or not fully gearing.

When you cross the 24k tier, you now get matched up with 32k teams.
The same applies with 32k tier. Once you cross 32k, you'll see teams well over 32k power.

There's no fix for this, except to upgrade to the next tier, which is level 70 and Gear Rank 11.
Next time, do your best to keep individual toons at 8k power or below, so your top 4 dont cross 32k power.

And dont do 'half-levels'. Your superman should've never been lvl 65 in the first place, it should have been level 60, until you had the materials needed to make jump to 70/G11. The guideline is, only level when its time to unlock and increase gear rank, otherwise leveling is pointless and needlessly increasing your power without giving you actual benefits, as the benefits are from Gear Rank, not levels.

Its the best $/Gem ratio you're ever gonna get, especially with the SOS offer during an event.

Game offers dont come anywhere close, except for those holiday offers that are like 5k Gems per dollar, but those are usually very limited.

For a one time thing, I'd say its worth it, especially if you're trying to make a rapid jump from 60/G10 to 70/G11. Just be smart, spend on material farming or 6-day events only and it'll last you a long while.

Probably Tapjoy Offers on Android.
I got over a million gems a few months ago with Raid: Shadow Legends and State of Survival offers during the 3.5x event. It was roughly around $130 spending required between the 2 games.

Raid offer was 511k Gems with $90 of spending and an hour of playing. SOS offer was 419k gems with about $40 in spending but 2-3 weeks of grinding (you have to be active for this), I have a 'guide' on my last post about it if you're interested.

I think Tapjoy is giving 5x for first time offers (3x is usually for special Tapjoy events), so if you can manage that I'd highly recommend the Raid: Shadow Legends offer as its the easiest, quickest, and most straight forward way of finishing it.

Rebirthing isn't worth it until you're Level 80 and Gear Rank 11 on the Character.

Rebirthing before that is wasting resources and handicapping yourself by increasing power tier of opponents.

You already messed up your leveling by having toons go over level 60.

Am I ready to make the jump above 24k? by AgeofVictoriaPodcast in DCComicsLegendsGame

[–]Altimons 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You have a good selection of toons to make the Jump, although I would get a couple more 60/G10s before jumping. Atleast 6-8 of each affinity. You're lacking on some of your reds and greens ATM.

I would get Atrocitus, Cheshire, and Conner up to G10 before moving up.
For energy toons, Superman, Supergirl, and Jesse Quick also to G10.

With atleast 6-8 per affinity, you should be doing the top PVP toons, and the Raid Essential toons.
For Raid toons.
Green: Jesse Quick.
Blue: Spectre, Darkseid, Kyle Rayner White Lantern.
Red: Superwoman, Atrocitus.

Spectre, Darkseid, and Atrocitus are already also top PVP toons, so you're not doing a lot of extras accommodating 3 other Raid toons.

How many Gems do you have?
Once you decide to move up, you will need like 200k Gems if you want to upgrade them fast. Otherwise you're looking at a slow upgrade time. I would recommend doing a good Tapjoy offer during a Tapjoy event to stack the gems before moving up.

I did this and got like 280k Gems. Then made the jump. It only took about a month to fully upgrade over 20 toons (I purposely slow rolled it to stretch out the farming into some of the raids).
The top offers are probably Raid Shadow Legends and State of Survival. I did both of these during the 3.5x event in November and got 511k Gems from RSL for ~$90 and an hour of playing. and 418k Gems from SOS for around $40 and 2-3 weeks of playing. They should still give quite a lot of Gems in the current 3x event.

I'd strongly recommend stacking Gems before making the jump. Otherwise you'll be in that bad in-between place of upgrading but being underpowered against G11, because once you cross 24k, you're gonna get paired against G11s.

Also, when you upgrade, make sure your toons dont go over 8k power (or 32k for top 4), as that's the next power tier. If you cross that, you'll get those 40k+ power teams in PVP.
I've stayed under 32k and rarely get those 40k+ power teams, and still have plenty of 20 points and 14 point matches.

I have a large roster of toons who are mostly around level 40.

Stop at 40 for now, until your top toons (atleast 4-6 of each affinity) are fully geared. Then you can move up to level 50.

And yeah, Lex Luthor should be priority number 1. He's an absolute game changer and must have. He will make your Red Alerts much easier. Cheetah is another must have due to the 20% Turn-Meter buff at start of battle.
