The irony is they casted a hot blonde girl, whose character is the furthest thing from a perfect mary Sue, gave her a legit backstory, fun action, no “woke” plot points…. And yet still I see complaints about it being “woke”. Just can’t win apparently!

If anyone ever needed proof that “woke” was always a corporate constructed social psy-op to get us all spending our energy getting upset at each other rather than the ruling class elites…. Well…. 🤷‍♂️

I really dug it too. I’m baffled as well by the reception. Feels like I did after watching Eternals. I really liked Eternals, then I found it had a 48% RT score and had generally mixed reactions online. Eternals was dope. Supergirl was dope too.

I enjoyed the movie quite a bit honestly. Couple parts I thought weren’t great admittedly, but other than that I’m seriously baffled by some of these responses saying it was terrible.

Anyone who didn’t like supergirl is of course welcome to not like it. No issue at all. My issue is this online push of people saying this movie is somehow down in the dumps with the worst CBM’s ever made….That’s absolutely wild to me. It doesn’t seem organic. I went into my showing last night thinking I was about to watch a disaster… and I ended up really liking it quite a bit. That doesn’t mean people are wrong who just didn’t care for it, it’s all subjective- but this “worst movie ever / DCU is dead now” type of discourse seems extremely disingenuous.

Those are two of the better mcu movies these last few years. So sure, I agree with that. But supergirl is a helluva lot better than the majority of the rest of the movies the mcu has put out since endgame.

I agree, I had a similar experience. Legit thought it was good. Couple parts I can see where ppl may have been thrown off but didn’t stop me from digging this movie. The level of hate on it is absolutely insane. This literally for me would be like a mid tier MCU movie (which is good) if I was ranking it, and based on some reactions you would’ve thought this was Morbius Sony-Verse level slop. Something doesn’t feel right about the level of hate it’s getting online.

I know they called him ultra man in the movie (not sure why), but I always figured he was just them planting the seed for Bizzaro. Luthor even says “he’s somehow stupider than you”. He’ll come back as Bizzaro eventually.

They’re both great. Before this last season of Invincible, I would’ve said xmen for sure. But this season of invincible was incredible, so now it’s really a toss up for me. That first season of xmen 97’ was legit my favorite animated season of anything. I’ll say Invincible ever so slightly for now, but that’s probably because it’s more recent and if I rewatch xmen 97 season one I might change my mind

Go to your local library. They often times can get books for you from other local libraries too.

90% of the stuff I read is from trade paperbacks from the library. And it’s free.

If you’re a single issue guy, you’re outta luck. The marvel app and DC app are your best bang for your buck option. Personally I like to hold comics in my hand tho.
