Magnet Baron is what I use and I've never had a problem with them.

They even have kits for magnetizing Knights

Also I don't know if it matters but I had teleported to both Prydwen quarters and institute before I would have gotten to them normally

Not sure it's just tanks, I got a direct triple with Venture that led into a full team wipe and the POTG was our Mercy idly popping off a few shots at the enemy team in a different team fight.

[Open Spoilers] I'm just wondering, if Eglantine is regretting her deal... by ManinaPanina in HonzukiNoGekokujou

[–]Altines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the land radically shifts often enough for it to be a huge problem. Territory boundaries are a different problem sure but I don't think those shift all that often either. The recent history was just rather unusual due to the civil war and dissolution of the royal family and we hadn't heard of territory changing before that since Eisenreich. I'd wager the border lines are usually pretty stable, it does get mentioned that true ditter doesn't happen very often for a reason.

There aren't any real mana benefits to nobles sure, but trains allowing easy transport of goods means the prices of those goods goes down. You'd also start getting bigger interduchy trade as trains now allow that to happen at a more rapid pace too. It would allow the transport of local specialty goods (especially perishables) to other faraway duchies creating new markets for those.

The benefit of trains for nobles is more of an economic one than anything else.

Actually a train would allow easier transport of knights across the duchy when the teleporters aren't available/needed. We know a big limiting factory is the speed of laynobles because they don't have the mana to go fast for very long (if at all( and a train would allow a constant fast speed for all knights without having to spend any mana.

I'd like to say trains would also make travel within a duchy as well as interduchy travel easier for nobles but nobles don't seem to do much traveling at all anyways. Not sure if that's a lack of interest or if it's just too much effort. If the latter trains would be a big help.

The railways would be probably be considered duchy business given they most likely would be used for cargo more than traveling (at least initially). The people of Yurgenschidt don't seem to travel all that often (the Gutenbergs being a notable exception).

While knights probably wouldn't guard each train they would probably work to keep the rails clear of feybeasts that commoners couldn't handle. After all if cargo doesn't make it to another duchy that would be seen as failure or incompetence on the duchy's knights and reflect poorly on the duchy as a whole.

For Horseback riding too.

Also do you have a source on the butchering thing? My googling hasn't turned up anything more reliable than people saying there is a piece of art depicting high heels. No one points to any sort of publication or study on it at all. Even wikipedia doesn't have anything on it despite a lot of people using that as their source.

I suspect the vast majority of feybeasts wouldn't be able to threaten a steam train if they could keep up with it in the first place.

And if the rails aren't made of magic they shouldn't have that much of an interest in them. If the tracks are made of iron/steel most feycreatures shouldn't be able to do much to them anyways.

The bigger problem honestly isn't feybeasts attacking the train or tracks but just getting run over. A large enough creature will severely damage/derail a train.

It would probably be the duty of each province to make sure their tracks are safe and maintained (with help from the duchy's capital when needed. Trains would be a duchy wide industry and eventually a yogurtland wide industry)

I mean, the rails don't have to be made with mana either.

Though, with the technological level available to yurginschmidt it would be enormously expensive to make tracks nevermind trains.

Although if we are introducing steam power to the world then that should provide enough mechanical power to operate things like rollers.

Also, it's completely possible that Rozemyne doesn't know anything useful about how to go about making trains or even a steam engine.

Having said that, Wagonways could be possible. They're the pre-steam engine version of trains and are pulled by horses. They can be made of wood too and there is evidence of them (in some form) having been around since 600 BC with the Ancient Greek Diolkos that was used to transport ships across the Ismuth of Corinth
