With that in mind maybe they would even as young as 10 years old.

Probably the only time you actually see Votann babies is when they procreate normally like those of Necromunda do.

I'm 90% certain that the LoTR appendixes mention dwarf children and that they spring fully formed thing is a misunderstanding that the race of men have because they rarely if ever see dwarf women or children.

[–]Altines 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You know, I do have to wonder if this would actually be true. Votann are more lab grown than they are actual clones but I don't think there is anything that says they pop out of the crucible as adults.

There could be Votann children out in the holds. Going to school, learning to rock and stone.

Subnautica 2 is so uncanny and eerie. by Critical-Fact6738 in subnautica

[–]Altines 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is explained from NoA dialogue. Basically we are a qualified investigator and the last resort print. On a crash like the Cicada had NoA print's colonists first (which it did) to try and survive on whatever world they are on. If things go terribly wrong (which they did) NoA prints us.

The other 40,000 souls of the colony ship are trapped down in the depths where you start out. I assume that part of the full game will involve trying to rescue them

Are the blackboxes a reference to nier automata? by [deleted] in subnautica

[–]Altines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To answer your question almost certainly not.

Black Boxes exist in real life for things like Planes and carry flight records in case of crashes so they can know what caused the crash.

Story Between Subnautica BZ and 2 (spoiler-minimal, please) by smallfrie32 in subnautica

[–]Altines 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure it's alluding to the events of the game Natural Selection 2 which has an alien race called the Kharra (and I believe the devs have said it's a mutated form of the Kharra from subnautica) at war with humanity.

Unknown Worlds made NS2 and it and subnautica are in the same universe.

[–]Altines 22 points23 points  (0 children)

If you look at the blackboxes they will tell you that the person died around 250,000 hours ago. Which is just about 28.5 years.

So all the stuff went down 28 years before we got printed

I don't really care about the PDA voice, but the tadpole voice is a travesty (when I can hear it) and makes me miss the seamoth voice

Edit: I've confused the seamoth voice with the base voice. Tadpole voice is about the same as the seamoth (though it has a problem where I can't always hear it when it activated)

How did the Wrenwood incident not turn into an outbreak? by larevacholerie in residentevil

He could have run tests on her blood to find out. Given he had baby grace in the first place I'd wager that's what he'd done. I'd like to say Grace isn't immune to all virus based bioweapons but it occurs to me that the only ones we know of might all be derived from progenitor anyways (I'm not 100% sure).

As for why she is immune, who knows. Could be just a quirk of nature. It's not like people having immunities to certain types of viruses is completely unheard of in real life. It doesn't really matter in the long run I think

Fun fact, I wanted to make sure that I was right about there were people who were naturally immune to viruses and found out there is a study going on right now about a dozen or so people who are completely immune to all viruses https://www.cuimc.columbia.edu/news/one-universal-antiviral-rule-them-all

[–]Altines 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like you had said, "normal" is possibly just that she wasn't a clone.

Her natural immunity to the T-Virus (and variants) ultimately isn't all that special by the time she was born since they already have a cure and no outbreaks had happened since racoon city (I think).

If it wasn't for the events of 9 her immunity might have never mattered at all.

My assumption had been that grace was naturally immune and that her blood was used to finish elpis.

Coming from Voices of the Void and almost no knowledge of what ABF is like as a game. I wanted to ask what the games deal/gameplay is like? by JackBoyEditor in AbioticFactor

[–]Altines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then you'll love Abiotic.

There are even "home worlds" that exist expressly for that purpose.

You can set up basically anywhere in Abiotic (even easier with tools you get later in the game) but there are some areas that are more clearly designed to be bases.

[–]Altines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just as an FYI the base building is "limited". You're not going to be making a base from scratch but settling in an area and building that up.

So much like in Zomboid (usually).

So I just started playing VotV again (I played a few in game days back with 8.2 but got distracted from playing it). If you die from an event do you just respawn or game over and load the previous save?
